  This company completely changed my mind about people in general. There are alot of fakes out there but this is the real deal. I sincerely recommend this product to everyone and anyone who has lost hope in recovering files from a PC that will not boot. I was able to successfully recover all of my irreplaceable memories. This product made my entire year! My laptop would not boot what so ever...I just kept getting a black screen. My HP Pavilion laptop even refused to boot in safe mode.   Hard to use

  Awesome Drive, Be Aware of USB 3.0 Requirements

  We got this drive for backing up AVCHD movies from our new camcorder (1080HD takes up a lot more room than 720SD). The drive works like a charm and does everything it's supposed to - it's fast, quiet, and has plenty of space. Works fine with USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports.Some things to consider:* This is a USB 3.0 device. You can use it on USB 2.0 ports, but USB 3.0 devices are less tolerant of out-of-spec components. Some older USB ports cannot handle the signal and power requirements of a USB 3.0 device. For example, I can plug this drive directly into my HP laptop docking station (USB 2.0) and it works like gold. I plug it into the USB ports on the front of one of my desktop PCs (USB 2.0, connected to the USB header on the motherboard) and all the drive will do is come on, make a clicking sound, and report an error in Windows (not enough power going to the drive).   Tiny & Well Built Peace of Mind

  The primary use for tiny (cell phone size) backup drives is to get "peace of mind"...to have a place to keep backups of important documents, photographs, etc.Last year, I bought a Canvio 2.0 that is now almost full. The Canvio 500GB is identical to my old drive, but packs in 50% more storage capacity and is 300% faster, when used with a computer that supports USB 3.0 data transfers.I am using the Canvio 3.0 with a 64 bit Windows 7 computer. The Canvio is designed for high speed USB 3.0 ports, but works fine (but more slowly) with the USB 2.0 ports on my computer. Because it uses the USB cord for both data transfer and for power, it does not have a power cord or a power pack. (One of my older backup drives came witha power "brick" that actually weighed as much as a REAL brick).The Canvio works quickly and quietly.   I want to give this drive a glowing review. I simply cannot. It is great in all respects except for one critical one: the USB cable that connects the drive to your computer only works intermittently at best. At first, I thought this was just a defective unit but after some online research and a peek at other Amazon reviews of Toshiba external hard drives, I learned that it is just typical for the product line. If the cable is not laying exactly the right way, is moved in the slightest, or is just in a bad mood, your connection will fail -- subjecting your data to corruption.   A virus had crippled my machine and I was able to use the ACRS when my system would not boot. I was able to boot the system off the live operating system (which looks similar to Windows OS) and had immediate access to the hard drive, with the help of the support staff (which they provide free) I was able to make a complete backup of my last 10 years worth of photos. OMG, if i had lost those I would cry for a year. None the less, they are now safe on 12 DVDs in my safety deposit box, thanks for helping ITC.   My computer would not boot but now i dont care

  actually, my windows xp stopped working and i cant bring myself to purchase 7 or vista. Well with this disc, i can boot the full linux live cd which is entirely windows like operating system in itself, I can access my old windows files right through there and even open all my office documents. Best part is, I cant break, I've tried, but i cant because it loads off the cd, everytime you turn it on, work as if it were a brand new installation. Funny thing is, it boots faster than Windows ever did.   Great product, worth the money

  The ACRS disc has alot of great features such as booting your system when it wont boot Windows. it includes two live operating systems, one can be used for diagnostics and the other can be used as a full blown computer which is very cool. The system also has a suite of security tools fow Windows, so if you dont have virus, malware, and spyware protection... you will soon. The disc also has a bunch of other stuff although I have not tried it all.   Lock failed after 1 year (Yes, I wrote down the combo and used it successfully before)

  Count me in as another user that couldn't open the Master lock (#177, same mechanism as #175) after it had been outside for a little more than 1 year (bought it on Oct 2008). Yes, I wrote down the combination and it worked several times before. It was used to secure my circuit breaker box which is on the outside wall of my garage (go figure why the builder don't put it inside!) I only opened it when I had to reset a circuit breaker that was tripped and last time I successfully opened the combo using my written combination is when I had to turn off the breaker to replace my kitchen ceiling light fixtures. I was surprised when I cannot open the lock the other day (to reset a breaker) using the same combination that I have always been using. Needlessly to say I am not happy with the thought of additional expense and inconvenience of hiring a locksmith to open this malfunction lock...Then I had an idea to look online for help and found out how easy it is to pick this lock if... 1/5 Jonathan K.   Excellent lock, hard to read digits in dim light

  I use a few of these for the gates around my home, and they seem to be excellent quality. My only quibble is that the numbers are quite small and difficult to read at night, even with my porch light nearby.
