er1ca this is a new firefox extension. to use it, just right click a link and choose "open this link in ie tab" you've now opened internet explorer in a tab of firefox!this is great for the occasional times when a page doesn't work correctly in firefox, downloading windows updates, or designing a web page- since you can easily see how your webpage displays in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox.

Make iTunes rescan folders and remove missing files

  • Dec 22, 2005 from celticeric
celticeric One of the most frustrating things about iTunes is that it won't rescan your folders and automatically add new media and remove dead links. OS X users can run apple scripts to clean up the iTunes library, but until now Windows users have been stuck. Not anymore, thanks to iTunes Library Updater.

Great baby monitor! Audio is very bad (static). Video is pretty good

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:08 Mins4/4/2011: The day and night video is pretty good. The installation process was flawless. Unfortunately I can't use the camera as a baby monitor since the audio static is awful. The static is so loud you can't hear anything. Hopefully Dlink will address my concern. I'll update my review once I hear back from them. See my video if you'd like to hear the bad static. Also Dlink hasn't fixed the audio problem with the Iphone App. You only get video with the Iphone. I have the Iphone 4 with iOS 4.3 installed.4/5/2011: I contacted Dlink support. They said they know about the audio problem and they don't plan to fix it. Ughh! I'm going to return this one and see if a new one sounds better. I'll post more once I get the new one.4/14/2011: I received my new DCS-932L from Amazon today. The audio is just as bad with this camera. What a shame. I even upgraded my java version to 1.6.0_24-b07. Ughh. D-Link DCS-932L or Linksys WVC80N - which is best for you ?

I was looking for a low cost wireless camera with better image quality than the Linksys WVC80N cameras that I have been using for a while. Side-by-Side, this is how the cameras compared.Bottom Line: Unless you need Night Vision or need the mobil phone apps, the Linksys WVC80N performs better at a lower price. Linksys has better image quality than D-Link at any distance, handles outdoor scenes when the D-Link won't and will deliver video clips (not just snapshots) by email or ftp. The Linksys does not have phone-apps, but it can email a 5 second motion triggered video clip that can be viewed on your android phone.Best Useage: The D-Link would be great as a baby cam or pet cam. The cute design, better audio and the night vision outperform the Linksys for these uses. The Linksys WVC80N would be better for any other use where the video quality under all lighting conditions (except dark) is the highest priority.Compare Image Quality @... 2/5 swb_mct - See all my reviews This review is from: D-Link DCS-932L mydlink-Enabled Wireless-N Day/Night Network Camera (Electronics) I was looking for a low cost wireless camera with better image quality than the Linksys WVC80N cameras that I have been using for a while. Great Wireless Camera

I had heard about the DCS-932L when it made its debut early in January and had been anxiously awaiting for it to go on sale. This is a great camera that is easy to set up. The picture quality is great, way better than I expected and the night vision on it is fantastic as well. I am primarily using it was a baby monitor and have another one in my sons play room. Its a great added bonus that you can view the cameras using Apple and Android products as I have an ipad and an Android phone. Though you can't hear sound on the apps you can still view your cameras from any website and can see both the video and hear the sound. My wife liked the added feature that the camera flashes when someone has plugged in and is watching. Great product and even better with such a low price! 5/5 F. Solid Performing Full-Size Wireless Mouse

I have been seeking a fully-featured wireless mouse for the past two weeks and have finally found my optimum choice in the Logitech Wireless Mouse M510. The attributes I sought out included the following:1) Full-size and ergonomic shape. I have fairly large hands, so most notebook mice cannot provide a sufficiently comfortable experience for long periods of usage time.2) High battery endurance. I prefer a wireless mouse that minimizes battery replacement to improve overall convenience and reduce my dead battery collection.3) Laser technology. A setting of at least 1200 dpi is necessary to track subtle movements, which are particularly important for graphical applications (i.e. solid modeling and photo editing software). Laser technology also allows for usage on most surfaces.4) Inconspicuous wireless transmitter. I find great appeal in a low profile wireless transmitter, as it saves the user from having to remove the device from a... 5/5 J. Great cordless mouse

I bought this mouse at bestbuy as it was not available on amazon yet. My previous experience with a wireless mouse was not good. I bought it from HP and it came with a charger cradle to recharge the batteries and a disk to download the software. It started to freeze up often, so I replaced it with the original corded mouse. While researching current wireless mice, i was confused as to why none came with a charger cradle. Apparently, the new technology allows a wireless mouse to use a standard set of batteries that last up to two years! This is great. I was looking for a full size mouse as I use this on my desktop and don't need it to be portable for a laptop. The feel is perfect. Contoured sides with rubber grips, the wheel is smooth and the buttons on the side are high enough not to get in the way when you are holding the mouse. These buttons can be programmed to do custom functions. I don't have volume controls on my new keyboard, so I programmed them to control volume... 5/5 NCshopper "Dave" (NC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse (Personal Computers) I bought this mouse at bestbuy as it was not available on amazon yet. Good mouse, but not for use on light color surfaces

I must say that I'm really disapointed in the M510 mouse. I purchased it for use on a light (or blonde) colored tabletop but unfortunately, the mouse does not track very well on light colors. It works great on dark surfaces, or with a newspaper or magazine under it. It is otherwise a very good mouse; the buttons are very responsive. My only other comment is that in spite of what other reviews say, the mouse does run a little small for someone with large hands. My other Logitech mice are larger & more comfortable for my large hands.I contacted Logitech support who said that it should track well on light surfaces, that mine mouse may be defective, so I exchanged it but the second one also does not work well on light surfaces. So if you will use it on dark surfaces, I rate it five stars. For use on light surfaces, it only gets 2 stars. 3/5 pbarb - See all my reviews This review is from: Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse (Personal Computers) I must say that I'm really disapointed in the M510 mouse. Best Overall Keyboard to Date

As a software developer, I am literally attached to my keyboard. On a typical day, I'll spend anywhere between 5-8 hours typing, so it's of critical importance that the keyboard I use is comfortable. As most programmers and typists can attest, the Microsoft Ergo series of keyboards is the best keyboard for prolonged use.Having used the Ergo keyboards in some form or another for the past 4 years (most recently, the Wireless Elite set), I must say that this keyboard is a step above. To begin with, the construction is very solid. There is far less flex in the plastic and the keyboard as a whole compared to my Wireless Elite. The wrist pad is made of a nicely textured faux leather material with a tiny bit of padding. It feels rather durable (not to mention comfortable). It's a good addition as one of my main gripes with the MS ergo keyboards was that it was hard to fit one of those gel wrist rests around the curved base of the keyboard.Compared to... 5/5 Charles Chen "Keyboard Jockey" (East Windsor, NJ) - See all my reviews, October 18, 2005

    I love this keyboard!

I'm one of the many who have been typing for years; from college where I earned money as a typist, to secretarial work, and now as a software engineer and a part-time writer, so needless to say that my keyboard is basically a constant companion. From years of typing I've come to learn my likes and dislikes of keyboards. I was one of those who ordered the very first Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard as soon as it came out, and I fell in love with it. After seven years, my faithful keyboard finally gave up the ghost and so I was forced to purchase another.I was at first lured to purchase a different brand name ergonomic keyboard because it was cheaper, and boy did I regret that decision. Some of the keys were moved from their standard positions, the ENTER key was much larger, which meant the SHIFT key was smaller and the back slash key was moved to the last row. The spacing between the number keys was wider so I had to readjust my reach, and, to make things worse, the... 5/5 Neilisa (Tulsa, OK United States) - See all my reviews, September 6, 2006

    Very happy with the keyboard

I just picked this up this afternoon and have been very pleased with it so far. I used it to replace a Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard. The wrist/palm rests feel very nice, and I like the fact that the keys are quiet - I'm trying to train myself to take notes while on the phone using the computer instead of using a pad of paper, and I find that loud typing while I'm talking on the phone can interfere with my hearing the other person, and with their perception of my attention. The software does seem relatively Spartan but to be honest I'm not a big user of customization features, so it doesn't impact my use of the device. In the past, I haven't even bothered to install keyboard driver software. The zoom feature works nicely in Firefox, I don't use IE much. So, for my use - standard typing for many hours/day, minimal use of special features - it's a great keyboard. I'm glad it's got the older-style cursor key/insert-delete-scroll key setup, rather than the setup used on the... 5/5 Greg Broiles (San Jose, CA United States) - See all my reviews, October 28, 2005

Works with everything I've tried, even under linux

Bought this to connect to a plantronics phone headset I have for use with Skype, but as an afterthought I also bought a logitech wireless speaker adapter. I was a little worried this wouldn't work with my linux (Ubuntu 12.04) system, but after finding another reviewer's comment with a line to add to my configuration, it works great with both the headset and the logitech device. I couldn't ask for more for decently under $20. 5/5 Brett Trotter (Ames, IA) - See all my reviews, May 3, 2012

Great price for a great router

The setup for this router was extremely simple. Plug the device into a power outlet and Modem, boot up your computer, toss in the included disk, follow a few instructions, and you're set.During the setup, a Router Monitoring program is installed. This gives you quick and easy access to options should you wish to access more advanced setings. It is not necessary if you stick to the default.I had previously attempted to setup a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH, which was highly recommended to me by friends who have used it successfully. After nearly pulling out all my hair, I ended up returning the device. For some reason the wireless signal would not detect properly. I returned it as recommended by Buffalo support and tried another. Same issue, so I sent the second back as well. From there I went with a D-Link DIR-655. It took some tweaking and manual channel switching before it would work, but at least it worked. After hooking up the Belkin N150, I... 5/5 J. Not perfect for everyone, but certainly easier to install than most wireless routers

I've been using this router: for the past five years, with a few problems relating to security settings, installation and reliability. Thus, I was nervous to mess with a home network that was 'currently' working well, but when the Amazon Vine program offered me the chance to try out the Belkin N150 Wireless N Router I thought I'd give it a go. This router promised an easy installation, and as I have experience many difficult ones, I knew I'd know if it truly was 'easy' or not.INSTALLATION:One of the negatives for this product was immediately apparent - poor setup directions. Yes, if you can look at a picture and figure things out, you'll get the gist, but it's not what I would call clear. The manual is on the included CD, but since that's step 3 according to the minimal... 4/5 Andrea L. Polk (Southern Oregon) - See all my reviews, April 12, 2011

    Logitech does it again!

OK, first off - these are inexpensive speakers so do not get them assuming they will somehow produce room-filling Bose type audio. For the price, they are incredible. The box includes the two small speakers, a 3.5mm "RCA type" cable to plug into your laptop/PC, and a USB cable. These are both 4 feet long. The speakers are very small and lightweight. They measure about 3 ½" x 3 ½" x 4 ¼" and the left and right speakers weigh 9 and 9.7 ounces, respectively. So these are quite portable.Setup amounts to setting the Z120 speakers down on your desk, table, etc. and connecting the USB cable to your laptop for power. Then plug in the 3.5mm jack into the laptop, or your iPod if you prefer, and that's it. The integrated cables allow the speakers to be 3 or so feet apart. The only control is a single knob for power and volume with an On/Off indicator. The sound is excellent, great highs, nice midrange, and healthy lows. The lows were a... 5/5 B. Excellent Hardware, Lackluster Software

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:11 MinsSummary: It's a great product, but the software is lacking. It does require a lot of processing power to produce decent videos, so do everything you can to let the capture software have all of the processing power. For reference, I was using an AMD Athlon 64 XP Dual Core 6400+ CPU with 4GB of RAM when recording this video. I am running the software on a Windows XP 32-bit machine. This video was recorded with minimal software interference, but I'm also happy with the quality of the processing for low-light conditions. In this case, I was looking to get the best motion performance, so I turned off all of the auto features in order to get the best picture with the light I was using. As you will hear in the video, the built-in microphone isn't terrible, but it does have a pretty high noise floor. That is fine if you're using Skype, but lousy if you are trying to record higher quality videos. A great alternative to Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000

I'm a big Skype user and have used the QuickCam Pro 9000 for quite some time. While Skype doesn't recognize this Microsoft cam as an "HQ" cam (or at least not yet, if ever), I have found that this cam excels as compared to the QuickCam Pro 9000 in three ways:1. This cam produces much richer colors. Some may say it borderlines oversaturated or "technicolor" but I really enjoy the brilliance of the colors2. Low light conditions keep rich and bright color. I find with the QuickCam it loses contrast to brighten up the picture.3. Launch time. I find with the Quickcam Pro 9000 the "ramp up/turn on" time is undesirably long when receiving an auto answer Skype call. This cam is ready to go immediately. As far as focusing goes, both the QickCam Pro 9000 and this cam aren't great at it in dark lighting conditions. The widescreen view is a really nice change from the normal 4:3 perspective. Great SOHO Gateway

When evaluating this type of equipment, one must differentiate between the device itself and other factors that can impact its performance. Blaming the manufacturer for issues likely caused by one's ISP is akin to saying, "I can't get past third gear because of all this construction on the highway... I'll never buy a Jaguar again!"That said, the SBG6580 is a solid piece of kit. This latest addition to the SURFboard line combines a DOCSIS 3 cable modem with a gigabit switch and a dual-antenna 802.11n wireless access point, providing all the networking equipment a home office needs in a single compact package... this amounts to a single point of failure, but that's par for the residential course. It can deliver 42 mbps downstream on a single channel (which my provider brands "Lightning") with support for eight bonded channels... meaning that when the day comes that ISPs start selling triple-digit speeds, this gateway won't need to be replaced.Wi-Fi... 4/5 Timothy Walker (Orlando, Florida USA) - See all my reviews, November 2, 2010

Great Amazon Experience - Wonderful Motorola Product

Customer Video Review Length:: 4:43 MinsSorry for the Dyslexia - This review is on the Motorola SBG 6580 SURFboard eXtreme Wireless Cable Gateway - during my video I used an imcorrect model number :(BIG PLUS to this unit: You do not have to buy a seperate WIRELESS N ROUTER which saves about $100 or so additional cost. Some have said they bought the lesser Motorola unit and then bought an extra Wireless N router. This seems like an unneccessary expense to me.Things to know:This modem will ONLY work for CABLE-delivered Internet such as Comcast Xfinity (tm) and some other ISP's using CABLE Internet signals. It will NOT work on AT&T UVerse network (because UVerse uses a hyped-up DSL technology)1. Unbox unit2. Connect AC Power Adapter to wall (recommend plugging into UPS power supply)- plug the other end into the back of this router.3. Connect COAX cable from ISP wall plate to your modem. This is the same hexagonal cable connector type... 5/5 Techie (Northern California) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Not for the timid or uninformed

The SBG6580 can actually be a niece all-in-one device if you have the patience and know-how to get it configured right.First off, there is a feature called 'IP Flood Detection' that needs to be disabled. (It is located under the Firewall page) By default, it is turned ON. When ON, this feature eventually causes everything to slow to a crawl. Turn it OFF (uncheck box) and you will never go slow again. This is certainly a failing on Motorola's part to default a poor-functioning feature ON in the first place.I would agree that Motorola's interface is clunky in general. It is pretty powerful too and advanced users will be able to do most of what they want with it.My carrier is Comcast and I enjoy real-word DL speeds of up to 4MBps (32mbps). Admittedly, with many of my apps, I'm actually around 3MBps, which is plenty fast for me. I have (2) hardwired PCs, (1) hardwired printer, (1) wireless laptop, (1) wireless printer, and (3) other hardwired... 4/5 R.B. high quality and tons of fun

Customer Video Review Length:: 5:16 MinsThe logitech HD webcam c525 is a great quality webcam at a very affordable price. I have enjoyed using it, learning the different features, and playing around with options. The webcam is very easy to use, plug it in, hang the camera on your Monitor and have fun! Highly recommended.*edited to add, I've been having a lot of fun with my webcam, making videos and spamming friends and family:) The controls are easy to use and adjust. We actually did send my mom the other camera, and my son walked her through it. I was right, it was so easy even she could use it! We are now on Skype and the quality for what we want, being able to talk "face to face" is great.Any out of focus issues are mine, later video shot with the webcam are much better but I wanted to do my first impression video, warts and all, to give a good sample of someone totally non-tech using and enjoying the webcam. 5/5 Becky (beckygardens) (new orleans, LA, United States) - See all my reviews, June 26, 2011

Very Favorable Initial Reaction--An Affordable And Intuitive Unit For Everyday Chatting Needs

Like other reviews previously posted, I also received this item through the Amazon Vine program. I was setting up to do a video review when I noticed that there is already one good technical video review on the page and one very good more practical review. Thus, I decided to do something a bit different. Having just received the webcam and still being in the honeymoon stage with it, I decided to come back after several months of usage with the video review of a more long term user. Sometimes our initial impressions give way to harsher realities after a product has been put to a more grueling test! So let's see how this holds up to the scrutiny of everyday use over time.I have never owned a stand-alone webcam, so this is my first. But my laptop does have a built-in unit which I have played around with a bit. While picture clarity and ease of function are both good on this device, it has limited versatility as it is fastened to my laptop in a stationary position. The... 5/5 K. Disappointed at the software

I just got it today. Installation was breeze. But it could not update by itself even after selecting the option (simply told my software was up to date). I had to manually update and quickly click the 'install when ready' kind of button before download was complete (otherwise it was downloading a lot and without installing just told again that the software was up to date). It looks like the users have been asking for image flip option in the software for years and the company does not seem to be interested. From what I read in their support forum they seem to think it is not done (I am currently using a software in work place that can do any flips of live feed under same XP, but not 90 degree rotation which some users asked for). Also, it seems that this option was there in some of their older sofware and not there anymore. I find it very inconvenient to remove and attach/adjust each time I close the laptop. I cannot attach it to the top of my computer table (just... 3/5 N. Timosheva (MA, USA) - See all my reviews, September 2, 2011

    Big Bang for Little Buck

I've only had my ViewSonic PJD5123 one day, which is a little premature for reviewing, but with only one review posted, I thought another would be helpful. I actually made my purchase on that review's recommendation, since I could find no others.First, let me say that my purchase was largely price-driven. I figured I'd have to buy a used projector, but the low price Amazon charged was the hook that caused me to bite on this brand-new one. My second criterion was that it had to work with a Mac; it does! I did have to purchase an extra cable for my Macbook Pro unibody ($29.99 from Apple). I could have gotten a third party cable for much less (and may still do that for a backup), but the reviews on them were not as favorable as those on the Apple one.So I took the plunge, even paying an extra $4 (Amazon Prime) to have it delivered in two days. It arrived on time and I found everything in the box as advertised. The written documentation is worthless, but... 5/5 Timothy K. Hoke (San Antonio, Texas) - See all my reviews, June 26, 2011

    An economical solution

The ViewSonic PJD5123 Projector is an effective and economical solution for movie viewing and PowerPoint presentations. Projecting from 25' it creates a bright 8' wide image. I connect it to a laptop with Bose Companion 2 Series II computer speakers creating an exceptional audio video experience. I use a Logitech wireless mouse to control presentations. You may need a case for the projector and possibly a longer video cable than the 6' cable provided. I am completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the projector and would recommend it to anyone in the market. 5/5 J. Fisher "Jim" - See all my reviews, June 15, 2011

    AMAZING projector

After shopping around and purchasing a few "cheap" projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more expensive. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I found this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was nervous about throwing down so much money. Rest assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable movie projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Trying to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no easy task. But this model is fantastic. I can't get over how crisp the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Even in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and clear. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My only concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a cheap dvd player and it... 5/5 Adam Lopez - See all my reviews, August 24, 2011
