Great product and a no brainer for Vista, if you have Vista this set covers any version

Worked out great since I was not sure what version of Vista I had, 32bit or 64bit. However, since this set includes both versions I was able to try one and then the other. As it turned out for me I determined my version was 64bit since I tried the 32bit and it did not detect the system. Once I tried the 64bit disc, it found the install right away and I was able to get the system booting again in about 20 minutes. ITC tech is very helpful too, a quick email got me the info I needed to get it done quick. Great buy. 5/5 Riley - See all my reviews This review is from: Windows Vista System Recovery 2 disk Set for 32bit & 64bit Systems - Live Boot CD/DVD (compatible: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, & Ultimate) (CD-ROM) Worked out great since I was not sure what version of Vista I had, 32bit or 64bit. IT OPENS THE DOOR

Your computer will automatically recognize if it requires the 32bit or the 64bit disk. My system was so badly damaged that once the door was opened by the 32bit disk, there was little else that could be done. If your operating system is not too scrambled, I think this producted could do the job for you. 4/5 Michael Backman (JALALABAD, AFGHANISTAN) - See all my reviews, April 17, 2012

    Sturdy machine

I've had a Dell Latitude D630 for almost 2 years now and there's one key feature that needs to be pointed out first. It's solid. Although I've never dropped it, it has been through a lot. It's very difficult to warp the LCD screen by applying pressure to the back of the display, and the screen is recessed a fair bit from the outside edges. I've seen quite a few people crack their screens but you'd have to try pretty hard to break this one. At first glance it appears thin, plastic, and flimsy; but when you pick it up and hold it you can tell there is a strong network of metal bracings underneath the surface. When I bought mine brand new from Dell, quite a few technical things went wrong. First the touchpad never worked well out of the box. It skips, freezes and stops working intermittently. I understand this is a big problem with Dell laptops. The other joystick style mouse works well, but after a year started occasionally drifting to the top right of my screen at slow speed... 4/5 Travis Molony - See all my reviews, August 22, 2009

Average Laptop, not recommended for home use

I've been using a Dell T630 for the past 3 days, 8 hours a day while undertaking some intensive training class. I am not going to enumerate the published specs for this machine but, instead I will run the specs against what I perceive as its usability and how that correlates to the price. It's probably fair to state that there is little remarkable about this machine. So, here they are, my observations:- Most of the basic featuresc found on cheaper models are found in the T630 as well.- Some features found in cheaper models, such as biometric (fingerprint) authentication are not supported.- Max resolution is 1440x900- Small 60-80GB hard drive - I can't see how equipping a $2000 laptop with a $50 hard drive can be possibly justified (for our class purposes, an installation that included Windows XP, Firefox and some VMWare filled up the disk, leaving only 1GB free).- Keybord is below average, "molasses" feel, need to strike the keys hard for... 3/5 A. Dell D630 review

The Dell D630 is a remarkable machine. I work for a university that is replacing older model laptops with the D630. This laptop was given to me for testing purposes and I must say I enjoy the features and durability it has provided me.The hardware is more than adequate for the needs of our students. The Core 2 Duo processor isn't top of the line but will run most operating systems flawlessly. I tested this one with Windows XP, Windows Vista and am presently running OpenSuSe 11.1. The machine I am using comes with 2 Gigs of ram but can be upgraded to 4 gig. The only time I notice any ram issues is when I am doing video intensive work while the 3D desktop in SuSe is turned on. The resolution only maxes out at 1440X900, but the clarity of the LCD screen more than compensates for that. The 4 USB ports are also a nice addition to the machine. There are other Dell Latitude's I've experienced that only provide two ports. The durability of this machine is more than one would expect... 4/5 Matthew Coffey - See all my reviews, February 19, 2009

Works on a February 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch

Plugged it in, put the back cover back on, fired it up holding down the D key to run the memory test. Memory test ran OK. Restarted."About This Mac" shows "Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3."Note: After removing 10 screws, the back cover remains retained by two plastic clips near the center. Pry it up gently and it pops off. 5/5 Michael Stanford (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews, March 16, 2011

Great memory for a new 2011 Mac Mini

I just purchased a new 2011 base model Mac Mini with 2GB of memory. Instead of paying Apple the $300 they want to upgrade the memory to 8GB I searched Amazon and found this option for one fifth the price. I'm not a "tech guy" but removing the two 1GB cards that came installed in the Mac and replacing them with these two 4GB was easily completed in less than five minutes. Everything is running smoothly with no problems to date. 5/5 Preston Reichert - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is a late model hardware modem that I got to use my laptop running Linux. Most laptop modems are software and do not have Linux software code. This just works because it is self contained with a processor and memory. The Conexant chipset is used in alarm systems to dial out. Same for Windows machines. No extra software needed. Delivery was quick too. 5/5 M. Patton (OHIO) - See all my reviews, January 31, 2012

    good value

It has served me well the few weeks I have had it now. The wi-fi is keeping me connected as I'm typing this from a hotel room. The processor is nice and fast. There are four high-speed USB connections. The unit is solidly built (perhaps a mite heavy). My only criticisms are as follows:The screen resolution doesn't look quite as sharp as on my desktop monitor. I'd say, maybe 85% as sharp, so it's usually barely noticeable. The other thing is that the soundcard doesn't have all the mixer capabilities you might expect to find in a desktop. I don't know if this is common in laptops and I sort of stumbled upon the issue. But I got around it by purchasing an external mixer from the Guitar Center.I initially intended it only as a travel companion but have since begun using it in my recording studio (with Cakewalk Music Creator). Oh, and to play SimCity (which doesn't work on Vista!) All in all, I am quite satisfied with it.The seller shipped it... 4/5 A-Tom (Albuquerque, NM) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Invalid License

I bought one of these laptops two months ago. It has been working just fine. Today Microsoft told me that the license is not valid. It has a valid certificate of authenticity on the back but does not have a second "refurbished" CoA. When I look at the internal System Properties/General tab it says "XP Corporate" which means it was covered under a volume/site license which can not be transferred or sold. I will probably have to buy a fresh copy of XP ($150) and re-install.Before I made the order I checked to see that the advertisement specified "Genuine Windows XP". I also checked the CoA when it arrived. When the Microsoft updater offered to run "Genuine Advantage" to check the authenticity I confidently thought "sure, go right ahead." Now every time I restart I get a big message that says I am a victim of software piracy. I expect the operating system will eventually simply stop running. 1/5 R (Down East) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dell Latitude D610 14" Laptop (2.00GHz Centrino Processor, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive) (Electronics) I bought one of these laptops two months ago. Worked great for recovering vista, just get the right verson

I initially purchased the 64bit version and when I realized it did not work I contacted the company. They helped me determine that the disc i needed was for 32bit system. They quickly exchanged and after that it was easy, I did the automated startup repair and it finished in about 10 minutes. After that I restarted and WOW... the computer booted into Windows. What a relief. Good Choice for a Daily Use, Mid-range Laptop

I've owned several laptops and would be considered an intermediate to advanced computer user. I've built my own desktops, tweaked a few laptops and owned various brands of laptops including HP, Fujitsu, Sony and Dell (Inspiron, Latitude and XPS series).I purchased this laptop directly from Dell based upon Consumer Report's November 2009 article recommendations where the Dell Inspiron 1545 was rated a 'Best Buy' for every day computing. I purchased it for my husband who will use it primarily for watching an occasional movie from Netflix streaming wirelessly on our home network, emailing to share jokes and videos with his friends, and browsing the Internet. After setting it up, which other than running into a snag with my home network was a breeze, and playing with it for about an hour, these are my impressions. The PROS:+ Comes with Windows 7 - no need to upgrade, and the 64-bit combined with the more than adequate memory makes things move... 4/5 Andrea L. Powerful Windows 7 Laptop, but a Few Software Issues

The performance of this laptop is outstanding compared to most laptops in the price range. It's unfortunate that Dell decided to preload Mcafee's security suite on the machine. Uninstalling Mcafee disables your network connection preventing you to get online. Reading up on this machine, it seems many people have this issue with the Mcafee suite. After reinstalling all of the software, this machine is pretty speedy. If you aren't sure how to reinstall Windows and all of the applications, be prepared to pay for subscriptions to Mcafee. You will be permanently offline if you choose to remove it.The webcam will keep kids entertained for hours with its facial recognition software. You can put goofy hair, hats, and other decorations on your face real-time. Not really a practical feature, but it is pretty cool.Aside from software bugs on the machine, this is an awesome computer, and it feels quite sturdy. It seems to be a pretty solid machine, and I think I... 3/5 K. J. Jensen - See all my reviews, November 21, 2009

Best bang for the buck on any laptop I have bought

I bought mine from Dell with a little better price but I buy a lot from Amazon and find the reviews helpful. I have a Dell XPS which is a high end Dell and running my benchmarks it is really preforms quite well considering the cost. Like one lady said the sound is better than the xps, maybe the best I have heard on a laptop. The screen is about a 1/2 inch shorter from top to bottom but about 1/2 inch wider. I thought I would be to skinny like the new 16:9 but its fine. The screen is excellent in sharpness and color very good. The intel graphics card is ample for video and is ok for older games. I am not a gamer high end graphics are not a issue. It does have 32mb of its own ram and the rest is shared. Dell has finally installed a app to back up the system for restore like other oems. The roxio is pretty much worthless and you need something else for the normal burning that windows 7 cant do.Mine came with 15 months of mcafee and I uninstalled it as soon as I got it. It is a resource... 5/5 Charles S. Glass "salty" (oregon coast) - See all my reviews, November 26, 2009
