  This software is great both my kids love this. The topics of study include: Spelling, Literature, Early Math, Science, Geography, Vocabulary, Music, Reading & Sentences, Art & Creativity, Sequencing & Ordering, Comprehension, Phonics and Letter Sounds.Kids practice reading skills with eight story books which tastefully deal with children from other countries, races and cultures. Painting activities are included. Colors provided are red, yellow, blue, black, and brown. You need to mix the colors to make your secondary colors.Ms. Pickles, the cook, will guide you through fractions when you help serve food in the cafeteria line. The player must learn to make and divide pizza quickly, to serve to the students in the food line.   JumpStart 1st Grade

  I am a huge fan of these video games. They are wonderful tutorials for young children and they make it fun to learn. They are plug and play which means that you put the disc in the computer and you are ready to go. If your child needs tutoring, these games may be the answer for you. My grown children used them and now I have purchased them again for my granddaughter.   Great Educational Game

  As a homeschooling mom, I love this game. My older son loved the game but aged out of it quickly at almost 6 (but he's very bright). My second son doesn't enjoy video games as much as his brother, but he still prefers the game over bookwork. At 4 1/2, he is improving in most of the areas fairly well. He gets frustrated easily with a few of the games that require more motor skills.   Nice, Compact, Works

  We purchased the JNC300XL about a year ago to power a camera system we were developing for a truck. We needed 12Vdc vehicle power while in the lab and in the field for testing off the vehicle. It charges quickly, holds a charge for months and is light and compact. Last summer my wife called to say she was first in a left turn lane on a busy expressway and her car stalled and would not start. I grabbed to JNC300XL where it had set for months without a charge and off I went. I connected it to her battery and it provided plenty of power to turn over her fair sized V6 engine and start the car. The nice thing is it was a quick hook up. I wasn't in the middle of a busy road trying to get my car close enough to her car to string a couple of jumper cables. It is great for powering gadgets that normally plug into a cigarette lighter for power. You unplug the "flashlight" on the front of the unit to access the cigarette lighter plug.   Jum N Carry Jump starter

  I already had a JNC 660 for my truck and wanted to put smaller units in each of our cars. I bought 3 of these, then 2 more for Christmas gifts. They are easy to use and much more dependable than the cheap imports with lots of whistles and bells.... I prefer the larger unit for my dodge 1500 with a V-8 (I've jumped it 5 or 6 times between charges without a problem... electrical trouble...) This smaller unit is great for our Toyota 4 cylinder cars and Chrysler Concorde with a 3.5 6 cylinder.   Fun for Threes!

  I purchased Jump Start Preschool several years ago for my grandchildren to play when they come to visit and recently added Jump Start Kindergarten to the collection. They love them both. The two year olds play them with my help and by the time they are three can insert the cd, click on the icon, start the game and go from one activity to another independently. Several of them visit often and head for the computer as soon as they come in the door.   fun and educational

  I bought this item about a month ago and my kids love the games that they can play by themselves. If you want a more educational experience for your child you may have to sit with them and do some of the learning games. My kids are not in Kindergarten yet, but this is good preparation for them in learning sight words, word families, and alphabetic recognition and sounds. As a teacher I would recommend K Jump Start.   How to run on 64-bit Windows-7

  When I tried to install on our Windows-7 PC I got an error message saying it was not compatible with 64-bit Windows.Doing some research it seams that this is truly "classic" software designed for old 16-bit systems. Windows is only backward-compatible one generation... so 16-bit software will work on 32-bit windows (usually) and 32-bit software will work on 64-bit windows (usually), but 16-bit will NOT work on 64-bit.The good news is that if you have Windows-7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate you can install "XP-Mode" which will let you run windows-xp as a virtual machine. You can then install this in XP and run the program that way. The really nice thing is that you can make a shortcut from the program inside the virtural-XP and place it on your Windows-7 desktop and it will appear to run like any other normal program.   Worth its weight in gold

  ...and that's saying a lot, since this thing is so heavy.I haven't used all the features, but I recently had a electrical problem in my car. The alternator was draining my battery, and I had to unplug it every time. I got the jump starter after my car was fixed, but then I forgot to turn my lights off two days later. This thing jumped my car just fine.I also have a lot of problems with my tires in the winter, air slowly leaks out of one of my tires. This will come in handy then, as well. It'll save me a couple bucks going to the gas station to fill up air.Pros: It works. Lots of features, including a cigarette lighter charger, USB charger, and air compressor for your tires.   I drive a honda ridgeline pickup truck and my wife drive a honda civic. I've been looking for a decent jumpstarter that would be powerful enough for both of our vehicles. Rather then having 2 various models it just seemed easier to get two identical units. After reading reviews on several various jump-starters I opted for this model.Now the most negative thing I could find about this thing was it lacked a flat charger so you couldn't leave it plugged in. For me that's not even a factor, after all I bought this to charge it and then put it in the trunk of my wifes car and in the cargo area of my truck. I don't intend on leaving this plugged in.   So far this unit has performed well. I used it to jump-start a raggedy old farm tractor, and the little box seems to have an impressive amount of cranking power (for short bursts, anyway).I've used the inflator twice to inflate a car and a truck tire. Takes awhile to get a tire up to pressure, but's that's normal with these little compressors. For it's size, it's quite adequate as an emergency air source. Took me about 8 minutes to bring the car tire up from 25 PSI to 45 PSI (under the weight of the vehicle). Really not that bad.The truck tire took a bit longer, as I had to stop the unit to let it cool down. B&D recommends running the inflator for no more than 10 minutes continuously.   Bought this for my 6 year old. He is starting grade 1 next month. Some parts of it are difficult for him but thats when I get involved and teach him. He can add and subtract so it helps him practice that. It teaches addition, subtraction, vocabulary, reading, counting money, recycling, planets etc. He LOVES it and I have to limit how much time he spends on it.   We have been purchasing the Jumpstart programs for our daughter since preschool and have been happy with all of them until now. The format just doenst work right with Windows 7 and there was no figuring out how to make the game more playable. Is there a more recent Jumpstart 2nd grade out? There has got to be. I havent found it if there is, but this has gone back a decade from the others we have.   Make Learning Fun!

  I bought this software for my 5 year - old grandson. He already mastered the 1st Grade of this series. Some of the skills are too difficult for him right now, but with a little coaching from me he can do it.   Nice bargain for the money!

  I have some mixed feelings about this product, even though I'm about to order a second one. First, and the only downside to this light, the overall construction is rather cheap. The frame is rather flimsy...Hydrofarm put all their know-how into the most important part: The light itself. But be forewarned the frame is a bit wobbly. Since a grow light sits stationary most of the time, it's not a serious issue. The two biggest plus points for this product.. the price and the fact that it works. I grow exotics and palms in zone 7 and have to overwinter them inside, and my Hydrofarm light has kept them going for 2 years straight. Unless you have the extra bucks $$$ to invest in the HP sodium or metal halide lights (as well as the increased energy usage) it would be hard to beat this bargain. 3/5 D.   Simple, light weight, easy to adjust light

  I have had this light set-up for a few years now, and still love it. The original fluorescent fixture conked out after 2 or 3 years' use, but a $10 shoplight fixture from a hardware store replaced it seamlessly. The stand is very light, and slightly aggravating to put together the first time, but it does the job beautifully. It is the easiest to adjust of all lighting systems I've used, allowing one-handed movement of the light up or down, making it great for seed starting. The one-handed-ness is made possible via some coiled metal strips within the cross-bar that create tension on the two strings or chains that connect to the sides of the light fixture. If you have to remove the fluorescent fixture for bulb replacement or storage, I recommend that you hook the two strings or chains to one another to avoid having to reassemble the tensioning mechanism, which can be annoying.This, plus a few heat mats and a small fan on a timer are all I've needed to start and grow... 5/5 Velvet Marmoset (VA, United States) - See all my reviews I have had this light set-up for a few years now, and still love it.   We love the Jumpstart Series

  We are a homeschooling family. The Jump start series has been wonderful. My three children are all working above grade level and love to learn.   Continuous Crashes

  I have received the blue screen of death everytime I attempt to open this product. If your operating system runs on Windows 7, be prepared to hold down the shift key everytime you want to open this program.Nevertheless, I was expecting a more interactive tutor-type software, where lessons were taught and afterwards my child would apply what she had learned to the subsequent games that followed. Not the case at all. I have to help my child consistently to ease her frustrations which arise from her not knowing the answers to most of the questions in all of the subjects. And even at a level 1, the questions, to me, were very difficult.I sense more frustration in the future as the game progresses and coupled with the continuous crashes I am afraid she will therefore lose interest in this program. 2/5 seekinggoodbuys - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)   "Sucks!" is too kind

  There needs to be a "no star" rating. There is no way to move back and forth between levels if your kid cannot finish them. If you cannot finish the Mah Jong level - not because of math skills but because the tiles don't line up - you have no choice but to do it over again. You cannot progress otherwise.Both my wife and I are very computer savvy - I design databases for fun - and this software is beyond salvage. The authors should be forbidden to write software. The positive reviews were written by company stooges who never used the product.
