  Only have one issue

  I've been using Photoshop since it was version 2.9. They've come a long way since then. Since 7.0 I've kept steadily up with their releases. There are several new features that I like quite well, such as Photoshop's "Content Aware." Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign seem to work without any hiccups. Flash, on the other hand, not so much. It burned me on several projects. With Flash CS4 I had the occasional crash, but when I opened the file I only lost changes since my last save (I could live with that). Flash CS5 corrupts the file so that it becomes unusable, and thus, hours and weeks of work goes down the toilet. Having looked into the issue, I found that many others have had the same problem. Very poor work by Adobe if you ask me. I give this product 4-stars because all the other programs in this suite work fine. As for myself, I still use CS4 when working on Flash files.   No stars would work since it's obsolete

  The CS5 suites are ALL obsolete. I'd say wait a few months.Reason being? They ship with acrobat 9. Acrobat 10 ships dec. 1.According to adobe... no way you can upgrade their suites to acrobat 10. If you want 10... buy it. (yes, I went around and around with them)So, returning my copy.Obviously they will at some point repack and ship with acrobat 10. But if you do use acrobat it will cost you a few hundred dollars to upgrade this pack. My advice is to wait for the version that will include 10.Thumbs down to Adobe for greed or stupidity.   Design Premium CS5 Extension Manager does not open

  Just search on "extension manager will not open" in the Adobe Forums or Google and pages of hits come up going back to CS4. This is a serious problem involving both Mac's and PC's that Adobe is simply ignoring.I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Design Premium CS5 installed. Nothing happens when I click on Manage Extensions from within any Adobe application, nothing happens when I click on Adobe Extension Manager CS5 on the start menu, and nothing happens when I double click on a .mxp file. No error messages - nothing.So I had a free couple of hours and decided to call Adobe.   Great programs at a good price for students

  I love illustrator but didn't have the funds to spend 500 dollars on it. When I saw this set I was really excited because it was in my budget and it also provides three other useful programs as well. I ordered this and it arrived the next day. I took the code provided and simply submitted a picture of my school ID, my transcript and an enrollment verification to the provided link and got my code two days later. There was no problems and no hold ups and there is even a 30 day trial you can use while you wait for them to verify that you are a student or a teacher. I looked more into this before I bought it and it is the same as the commercial versions, can be used for commercial use and the only real catch is that you can't resell it.   Fantastic..everything you want or nearly

  I was so excited to upgrade from my Creative Suites CS2, with this new CS5.5 version. I read that now InDesign had the ability to create epub books. unfortunately it does not seem to be able to do much there or I have yet to learn how to make them come out just right. So that was disappointing, thus the four stars, not five. But that said everything else is wonderful!No longer do I have to bring in guide lines to find center because the program now just does it!   Just what I expected!

  I bought this student edition on Monday and received it today (Wednesday) and couldn't be happier with how things turned out. I read some other reviews and was expecting to have a difficult time to verify that I was a student, but I had no troubles at all. I think it's silly to blame Amazon for what is clear to be an Adobe policy. If you go to the link that Amazon provides to see whether you qualify as a student or staff Adobe sets out very clear bullet points as to who can qualify. I thought I would have to send in copies of my picture ID and some other school forms but Adobe let me use my student email as part of the verification process and I received my serial number within seconds after hitting submit. I am very happy I went through Amazon to purchase this package as I couldn't find this particular item on the Adobe website. Just for Indesign alone on their website was 199.99 but you get so much more with this package for just a little more extra money.   Waiting to find out if I'm even eligible?

  I agree with ME Raines.You can't know if you're eligible until you open the package and run your information through Adobe.From the box:"STOP! Before installing this product, you must obtain a Student and Teacher Edition serial number by following the instructions enclosed."Seems harmless enough...Where are those instructions you ask? In the box, wrapped in plastic.What are those instructions? Go online, use the serial number (in the plastic wrapped box), and take photos of your student ID, provide billing info, and/or email address.None of this information is on the outside of the box OR on this Amazon desc. page.So of course you have to open the box.   WARNING-CHECK FOR ELIGIBILITY BEFORE BUYING!

  I'm really ticked. You cannot download this software until Adobe approves of you as a teacher or student.As the owner of and instructor in a post-secondary vocational school, I bought this product, believing I qualified. I called to find out more about proof of eligibility as a student or teacher, and this product is pretty much limited to elementary schools, high schools and colleges. My school, it turns out, is not eligible. Furthermore, I spoke with a gentleman representing Adobe who was obviously not from the USA. He couldn't even understand that a "postsecondary vocational school" is a category of school, not the official name of an institution. When I gave him the name of my school, his language barriers prevented him from being able to repeat it correctly. Regardless, I eventually discovered I wasn't eligible.   Incredible Deal for the Right Users

  At work I have Adobe Master Collection installed on both a Windows machine and an OSX machine. For home, I don't need that much manpower but I do need Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver so this package is perfect.These programs are industry standards for design and web applications and are the ones used by the experts. Anyone shopping for this software should already be familiar with what the applications do, and, hopefully, how to use them. They should also have a powerful enough machine to handle this software. Otherwise, there are plenty of simpler, cheaper (even free) programs that will meet their needs.I would not consider criticizing CAD software or statistical packages because I wouldn't know what I was talking about.   Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium Student and Teacher Edition

  Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop Extended, is simply the best there is in graphic software. I have been using Photoshop since version 6 and have upgraded along the way as I could afford it. For this purchase, I followed 171st paang's advice (be sure to read his review) and downloaded directly from Adobe's web site. To register the software, I uploaded the proper University ID and that's all there was to it. Great software for my purposes, which is photograph restoration and just enhancing my own photos. Friends and family think I'm a great photographer but it's just that I run all of my photos through Photoshop first (they also think I'm a few pounds lighter). It's great fun and if used for professional purposes, it can be a life-saver (didn't noticed the green thing on the bride's tooth when you took the photo?)! Since I am a complete beginner in all Adobe creative suite products, I was surprised at the books ability to walk me through the basics as well as teach the new features that are introduced in the CS5 version - and pack it into just 1 book.   Great combination

  I just went back to school for photography and this was an requirement for my degree. I like how Adobe designed the programs to work very well together. I also like the fact that and Photoshop are designed to work hand in hand. You can make adjustments in Lightroom and right click an have it open in photoshop, and it will ask you if you want to use the image with the adjustments or the original. 5/5 Patricia L.   Product once learned is a terrific tool. I just wish the technicians who have been "trained" on it to answer and trouble shoot questions and problems, truly understood it themselves. I spent over an hour on the phone with someone (sounded like in India) who was not only hard to understand but if he truly heard my comments, directions and questions we could have solved the problem in 1/4 the time it took.   A lot of bad design changes

  I have worked with Adobe CS2 for many years now and when I got a new computer, I was forced to move to CS5.5 due to intel processor compatibility reasons. I have to admit that it was the biggest mistake I have ever made software-wise and consequently hardware-wise as the new computer is worthless for its job.   A Must Have Upgrade

  Like all new software releases, the new release is often times the best ever. That's also the case with Adobe's CS5. What Adobe did was take the best suite for photographers, web designers, developers and pretty much anyone in IT or technology, and make it better. Unlike other manufacturers, Adobe did not see the need to completely redesign near perfect software, but rather keep the design and layout we have grown accustomed too and added lots of new features and capabilities. In CS5 the varios parts of the suite also work better together, something Adobe did a great job on with CS4; so PhotoShop works better with Illustrator in CS5 for example, and so on, a must have for those that work with workflows or take full advantage of the suite.As far as the Design Premium Suite goes, it'll work for most that need it for building really nice websites or marketing like material, or even photographers.   Phenominal Software

  I am a design minor and this software is simply phenomenal. It was very easy to prove my student identity to Adobe (for me I had to have a proof of enrollment from our registrar's office since student IDs were not dated, and I used my driver's license for the photo). It took about three hours after my email was sent before they responded with the software key, which to me was quite a turn around.As for the software itself I have only had experience so far with Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop but each has very specific functions. Bridge is a full reference system for any and all images you have on your system, with specifics on creation and edit dates, and other details about the image as well.
