    Big step backward

[original review - see update below]I have used Trend for many years. It seemed like they finally got it right with 2009. It was quick, reliable, and had lots of options. After that subscription expired I got a notice to download this new "Titanium" thing (billed automatically by Digital River - that won't happen again!).I downloaded it and it installed okay, but there are practically no advanced settings. It is so dumbed-down. You cannot really fine tune the scanning any more, and there is no ability to control the home network the way you could with the previous version. About all you can do is set a few parental controls and very, very simple filtering. It also seemed to slow down Firefox briefly. It's like Firefox would be unresponsive for the first ten seconds or so before it was usable. Not sure if it was due to the antivirus but the correlation was there - it started as soon as I installed the new version.Despite my... 2/5 Okay, listen ... My favorite by far

I have been using Trend Micro antivirus for several years now and have always liked it. This version is my favorite - it is everything you need and nothing you don't need. No stand alone firewall is included, but it does have enhancements to the windows firewall - however, for home use, I always turn software firewalls off since they tend to block network printers and my router provides more than enough hardware firewall protection for my home network. There's very little to configure with this, which makes it great for many users who don't understand complicated security software. As far as the person who said it blocked internet access while updating, I haven't experienced that issue. I haven't experienced any issues with it at all - it just runs quietly in the background doing it's thing very unobtrusively. My most important criteria is that it not slow my pc down, and this does that very well - seems to be lighter on resources than many other offerings out there. 5/5 Thomas (Houston, Tx) - See all my reviews This review is from: Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2011 - 3 User (Software) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) Feeling Secure

I've used many internet security programs including Norton and McAfee. Prior to installing Trend Micro Titanium, I was using Bit Defender until I found it too obtrusive, fickle and annoying. The Trend Micro Titanium is easy to install and doesn't slow down the system. What I like best is that it works quietly in the background and doesn't bombard the user with incessant messages, pop-ups, and sales pitches.Controls for the program are straightforward and easy to understand and set up. I like the displays showing history of scans and security reports. On another computer I have a 2010 version of a Trend Micro program that has worked flawlessly for many months. I even got an offer from Trend Micro to update to the Titanium version for free. How can you beat that? This Potato Head is very pleased with Trend Micro and will stick with it. 5/5 Spudman (Pasadena, MD United States) - See all my reviews, November 12, 2010

    Loving my new stroller!

I adore this stroller! I have had a Safety First tandem double stroller for 4.5 years. It is so bulky, hard to steer, and if I put more weight in the front, I might as well forget it. It also took up the whole back of my Jeep Grand Cherokee and was a major struggle for me to get in and out of the bed of our Chevy Silverado. I started shopping for a new double soon after our newest addition was born. I have a very tall 4yo, tall 2yo, and a 5mo. I wanted them all to be able to ride in either seat and be able to manuever, fold, transport, and steer easily. I'm also tall, 6ft, and my husband is 6'1" so I wanted one with a high enough handle and that we wouldn't kick. This one works GREAT! I've actually taken all three children shopping in this WITH a shopping cart, by myself! I can have any of the children in it with either one of the other children on either side and it steers like a dream! It turns on a dime and has fit through ever door way. When I go shopping, I... 5/5 B. Benson "Licy's mom" (California) - See all my reviews, February 20, 2011

Honest Review of an Excellent Stroller: Updated

Before purchasing this stroller, I read several reviews online and tried it out in a store. I found that using the stroller on a daily basis was an entirely different experience and wanted to share that so that you can make an informed decision. Background: I own two other double strollers, a Graco Quattro Tour Duo (that's a tandem) and a Maclaren Twin Techno (that's a side by side umbrella). I have two children, age 18 months and age 1 month.First, I would like to address those who are looking for a jogging stroller. This stroller is not a jogging stroller, and is not intended to be per the company, so it's not fair to review the stroller based on it's jogging abilities. However, since so many people seem to want to jog with this stroller, I will note that I have tried both jogging and running with this stroller for review purposes and it is an excellent stroller when used as intended but if you want to jog or run buy one of the jogging strollers in their... 5/5 CJ (US) - See all my reviews This review is from: Baby Jogger 2011 City Mini Double Stroller, Black/Black (Baby Product) Before purchasing this stroller, I read several reviews online and tried it out in a store. 2011 City Mini is Great!

The wait is over; we have the new 2011 City Mini! I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. The new feature on the 2011 version is the pair of pre-inserted backboards for a more supported ride for the little ones. I honestly can't say that the seats appear to be more upright than the 2010 (this is my opinion from visually comparing '10 & '11 strollers side by side). I have a BJ Elite 2010 double stroller and I bought backboards separately for each seat. They are basically the same principle. By buying the 2011 version, we saved the money it would have cost us to purchase the 2010 version PLUS 2 additional backboards. This stroller is fantastic (the best we found!) and I highly recommend it. For a sturdy, well made double stroller, it's lightweight and fairly easy to lift in and out of the back of our van. It turns on a dime and is extremely easy to maneuver with the babies (or kids) riding along. The seats can be reclined all the way back to a lying down position. It blocked attempts to get my financial info!

I uninstalled my expiring Kaspersky and installed Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security. The process took practically all day because there was so much that needed to be cleaned up, but after the installation was complete and my first full scan and system tuneup was done, WOW, my computer is a lot faster now! I'm having far less problems during and after booting up, too, because I set Trend Micro to delay loading startup programs until after the OS finishes booting.I was sent the 1-PC version to review instead of the 3-PC version I thought I was getting. I was disappointed about this, because our household is wirelessly networked and I wanted to have a chance to see how our network as a whole behaved with the Trend Micro product protecting all of our computers. Too bad I can't address the product's performance at that level. I did have a brief snafu with our local network not being automatically recognized, but a quick and pleasant exchange with customer support via chat... 5/5 Diane Kistner (Georgia) - See all my reviews, November 2, 2010

No pop ups or update reminders.

Overall: Easy to use and doesn't need to constantly update like Norton or Mcafee, but may not have as good protection against older viruses.Pros:Easy to install.Takes about 10 minutes and you only need to enter an email address and your product key.Won't slow down your computer. Recent test on Tom's Hardware showed this software doesn't slow down computer for web browsing, games or productivity software. In my experience, the computer runs fast and it loads faster than McAfee.NO updates. This is "cloud based" so you won't get those annoying update reminders. However, I've heard that this approach is not so good at catching older viruses and malware.Cons:Doesn't have it's own firewall program. Has a firewall "booster" that just uses Windows Firewall instead.Windows firewall works fine, but you would expect the program to have it's own firewall program.Lack of configuration options. Typical Plantronics Quality ...

My first experience with a Plantronics Bluetooth headset was a Voyager 510 I purchased 2 1/2 years ago ... and I still am using it on my daily two hour commute to work. While the ear bud mechanism on that device has worn down over the years, my positive experience with overall quality of the headset has made me a big fan of Plantronics products and the M20 headset is no exception. While the Voyager 510 was (at the time) a high-end headset, I find the M20 more than a match for several reasons:1) Small and lightweight, the headset fits comfortably and securely.2) The earpiece design is contoured and rubberized ... a vast improvement over the typical sponge-covered ear bud in that it ensures a more snug/secure fit and isolates sound better.3) The sliding on-off switch is easier to access and operate than the push-button mechanism on the Voyager 510.4) Voice alerts indicate when the device has been turned on or off, as well as... 4/5 DACHokie (Blacksburg, VA) - See all my reviews, July 30, 2011

UPDATE 01/19/2012: I liked this earpiece but, unfortunately, it stopped working on me after just over half a year of little to moderate use. It was not dropped or abused. I went to try and use it one day it wouldn't turn on. I went to charge it thinking it was a low battery but it didn't respond to the charger properly in terms of the lights that normally turn on to indicate charging. I contacted Plantronics and after a few canned email responses from them they said to send it back to them at my expense with the original purchase receipt. Since I got it through Vine I didn't have a purchase receipt. I wonder how many people who might have bought this at a brick and mortar store would have retained their paper receipt for an entire year? These companies have every ability to look up SN numbers and determine manufacture dates to see if it is out of warranty. I also think it is pretty weak that I would have to pay for return shipping. Works great, but not comfortable....

This is yet another very fine Bluetooth headset by Plantronics. It is intuitive to use, it is very compact, has great battery life, and sounds really excellent. It also has extra functionality with iPhone where the iPhone shows the charge level of the headset onscreen next to the Bluetooth indicator. I just can't seem to get comfortable in the headset. I have used Plantronics Voyager 510 headsets for 4 1/2 years, and they work so well and are so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. I had the same hopes for this headset, but with a much smaller footprint. This headset is hard to put on, and it hurts the top of my ear. No way could I wear this all day for business. It hurts too much after about 10 minutes, and it is too difficult to take on and off, definitely a both hands job.If there is a way for you to try this on before buying it, I would highly recommend doing that. If it works for you, then this headset may be a real winner. 4/5 IAMSLICK - See all my reviews, August 4, 2011

UPDATE: June 30, 2010 - This GPS is still great! Waiting on whether to update it to 2010.UPDATE: September 4, 2008 - Still very impressed with the 76CSx unit. It has come in real handy recently shopping for a house. All my opinions stated previously are still current. One very handy feature the unit doesn't have that I wish it did was the ability to choose an alternate route while your are traveling. This can come in handy in the event there is a detour or you want to calculate a route around a traffic jam. This would create a by-pass route on-the-fly. Many street specific GPS units can do this. Although, this unit can re-route if you go off course which is something different. The '2008 City Navigator Map Update' is not much to be desired. I have not noticed any significant improvement in calculated routes or updated points of interest (POI) data over the 2007 maps release. The Cadillac of handheld GPS units

There are times when "pretty good" isn't good enough. For me, purchasing a GPS unit represented one of those times. I wanted a handheld GPS unit that was best-in-class. My research led me to the GPSMap 76CSx. Factors that led to the decision: frankly, the reviews here; Garmin's reputation; powerful satellite locking; great variety of base- and add-on maps; expandable storage via microSD card; altimeter; compass; battery life; transreflective LCD screen. Don't underestimate the importance of the transreflective screen: one of the biggest consumers of battery power is the LCD: with the backlight on frequently, battery life drops significantly. The transreflective LCD enables you to turn off backlighting for use outdoors during the day, which significantly reduces battery draw.I like to play with a unit before reading the manual, and in playing around I have figured out the major functions/features. It's not the *most* intuitive unit, but I give it 4/5 stars on intuitiveness... 5/5 L. Kirk "Crabseye" (Maryland, USA) - See all my reviews, September 15, 2007

    The Next Generation...

Do not let the suggestion that this device is intended for marine use deter you from considering it for highway and recreational use on land. In fact, the waterproof and floating qualities of this device simply enhance its already impressive capabitities for hikers, bikers and motorized recreationists. It uses all varieties of MapSource software, providing the ability to use highway, topographic and marine maps. The removable memory allows the user to increase memory or to create memory cards with chosen mapsets preloaded. I installed a 2 GB card and have every available MapSource map east of the Mississippi loaded, including parts of the Canada, Mexican isthmus, and Carribean World Maps! No longer do I have to sit and select maps corresponding to my next trip, load them to the device. Nor do I have to load map segments on my long trips during my trip (which required I bring my PC). It's in there! It's nearly as good as the DVD method found on today's built in vehicle... 5/5 Paul Mark Provencher "ppro" (Morgantown, WV USA) - See all my reviews, June 13, 2007

He guaranteed a refund if I wasn't pleased, but only if I purchased directly from Nutra-Lift (aka "Younger You.) The literature that arrived with the product showed before/after photos that clearly were retouched, shot in completely different lighting conditions. Testimonials said results were seen after 6 weeks of use. Since I already had the bottle, I used it every day for 6 weeks with NO results-- nothing. Also, it has an unpleasant smell like rotting fruit, or-- I hate to say this-- old baby vomit. When I asked for a refund, I received a rude email telling me that I should see a Dermatologist, because I must have a "serious skin condition." Nutra-Lift placed the fault on me instead of their inferior product. They also refused to refund my money because I'd used the product over 30 days, as their literature advised. Don't purchase this.

I bought this product after seeing Rachel Rays show demonstrating the product. While I liked at first it became increasing more difficult to use. It began to clump making it very difficult to use. You use small amounts of this cream which seemed good at first but it began to clump which made it impossible to spread on the face without clumps. When I asked for a refund from the company they wouldn't refund the money because I purchased it from buxnie and buxnie wouldn't refund it because it was over the 30 days, there is 3/4's of it unused. So now I paid this money and have most of it left unusable. 1/5 bob & ginger - See all my reviews This review is from: Nutra-lift® Instant Results Wrinkle Remover,2 oz. When I asked for a refund from the company they wouldn't refund the money because I purchased it from buxnie and buxnie wouldn't refund it because it was over the 30 days, there is 3/4's of it unused. So now I paid this money and have most of it left unusable. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 28, 2011

On the Rachel Ray Show 01/11/11

This product does work and if you go to Rachel Ray's website and go to Tues. 1/11 you can watch the video of Dr. Youn, a plastic surgeon, he used this product on a lady and you can plainly see the results for yourself. I have never had a problem with this company either, they have always been very helpful to me, of course I wasn't asking for a refund either and being in sales I can understand why they wouldn't refund if you purchased somewhere else because they have to pay a share to others that sell their product. As far as the scent of the product, I don't think it smells bad, but if it took away my wrinkles and sagging skin I wouldn't care how it smelled. I have tried many other products but this one is the only one that has worked so well and it doesn't involve needles. 5/5 a health nut (Pensacola FL) - See all my reviews This review is from: Nutra-lift® Instant Results Wrinkle Remover,2 oz.
