Renewal Costs More Than New Software - Otherwise OK

I have been using the Norton security products for many years, and I have been for the most part very satisfied with them. The one gripe I have is that every year when I go to renew my subscription, I find that I can purchase new copies of the software for less than the renewal price. Although it is relatively easy to buy new copies of the software every year and avoid the exorbitant renewal costs, I feel like Symantec is trying to take advantage of me. I think loyal customers should be rewarded with renewal costs that are at or below readily available costs for the new software from reliable sources like Amazon. Instead, Symantec prefers to try to gouge its customers. For this software which is currently selling for $37.99 on Amazon, Symantec charges $59.99 for renewal. Shame on you Symantec! 3/5 Linus Linder - See all my reviews This review is from: Norton Internet Security 2011 - 1 User/3 PC [Old Version] (Software) I have been using the Norton security products for many years, and I have been for the most part very satisfied with them. Norton continues its good run.... still some flaws and cosmetic improvements this time

I have been using Norton Antivirus/Internet security for years now (on 3 PCs running XP) and the big turn around for the past few years with 'light' software has been great. Most times, issues have been due to non-removal of other/earlier versions of Norton software.Installation: The recent improvements in installation are continuing to be great. I was able to upgrade from NIS2010 to 2011 in under 2 minutes. If you still have license period left from your previous installation, choose to upgrade using Norton upgrade option (You'll get pop-up notice or check Support - Check new version/product update). If you upgrade using the disc, it will over-write your existing license period (doesn't make sense, but that is the case here). However, after internet upgrade, you can enter the license code from the disc to extend the license for another year (just before your license period expires). During installation, you may notice wireless connection disconnecting a couple of times,... 4/5 Gene Cloner (St Louis) - See all my reviews This review is from: Norton Internet Security 2011 - 1 User/3 PC [Old Version] (Software) I have been using Norton Antivirus/Internet security for years now (on 3 PCs running XP) and the big turn around for the past few years with 'light' software has been great. One of the best if not the best IS software

Well, after a few month of beta testing I guess it's time to give everybody my opinion. Since 2010 Norton became my favorite security suite for my PC, and this one is no exception. I tested it on 3 different PC running XP Pro, Vista H.P.32bit and Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Once you get this software it will let you install on 3 different computers. Haven't tested 64bit version, but I'm pretty sure it should work the same. For those who already has a 2010 edition you won't see mush of the changes, it's more like refined version, which is a very good thing. For the interface it keeps the dark theme, with yellow text, but moves the large graphic security status indicator from the main interface window up to the task-bar and system tray icons. The UI is impressively easy to use. It's still very fast light on resources, with an extremely good protection. As for everybody else here's what to expect:Installation: Once you run the installer, the program is ready to operate in about a... 5/5 Vidis "Vidis" (MO USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Norton Internet Security 2011 - 1 User/3 PC [Old Version] (Software) Well, after a few month of beta testing I guess it's time to give everybody my opinion. Not Trial Version

I purchased the product from Amazon and it arrived very quicky. Product is as decribed. It is not a trial version. After install, it did say that I had a 3 day trial, however, the instructions that came with the software say that you must activate the product within 15 days of install. A product key is attached to the instructions. After I entered the key and activated the software, my subscription went from 3 days to 365 days. 5/5 Guacamole - See all my reviews This review is from: Norton Antivirus 2011 - 1 User [Old Version] (Software) I purchased the product from Amazon and it arrived very quicky. The Best of All Worlds

The second film to be produced directly by Marvel seems eager to prove why comic book companies should exercise direct control over their films. Rather than being nothing more than a new director's take on an old classic, The Incredible Hulk is both an engaging film and a love letter to every other incarnation of the The Hulk that proceeded it. This film truly endeavors to understand and assimilate the entire history of the character into one new project, and boy does it succeed. At the center of The Incredible Hulk is an ambitious attempt to marry the two most popular and conflicting visions of the character. The film borrows many elements from the fondly remembered 1970s television series but also incorporates many of the more important elements from the comic book. It's a tough balancing act, but the film makes the disparate elements mix together in a way that makes complete sense and (I believe), leaves fans of both series feeling satisfied. Probably the Hulk that most people want to see

A few observations about the mostly successful, mostly entertaining 2008 film "The Incredible Hulk"...The movie is billed as a reboot or totally new version of the Hulk, not a sequel to the 2003 Ang Lee film that was simply titled, "Hulk". I'd call the movie more of a semi-reboot. Why? Well, the earlier movie ends with Bruce Banner in hiding in South America, with General Ross and his cronies madly searching for him. And the new film, well... opens with Bruce Banner in hiding in South America, with General Ross and his cronies madly searching for him. I think Marvel smartly structured the film to appease both camps: if you liked the earlier movie you can- contrary to all the "forget the earlier movie!" hype- view this one as the next chapter in the story. And if you didn't like the earlier film, you can point to the recasting of the actors and the less introspective, more "big summer movie" tone and say, "Whew, it's NOT the same storyline!" Your money, your... 4/5 Joseph P. Menta, Jr. (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews, October 27, 2008

The new Hulk film was well made for a number of reasons

This re-imagining of the green Goliath works far better than Ang Lee's 2003 outing that's for sure. Being an avid admirer of the Bixby/Ferrigno series in the late seventies and early eighties I found this film to be closer in spirit to the series and I definitely liked that. The Hulk's origins are played out at the very beginning and once that's over and done with audiences are in for a fast paced and enjoyable ride. The film attempts to keep people who liked the series happy as well as the crowd who want it firmly rooted in Marvel tradition. The Hulk battles a foe called The Abomination in the final third, and by the way that fight is pretty amazing, and I gather that that's a person to be found in the original comics. While Eric Bana was one of the few things that was positive about Hulk (2003), Norton betters him here. He's such a natural performer and he can convey so much with mere expressions. He was the perfect choice to play Banner, in some ways he... 4/5 Jenny J.J.I. Great Value

I have been using Norton to protect my computers since the 80's. Since I am a long time repeat customer, that says it all. I have tried others that worked well, but found that Norton was the least intrusive. Going about it's business in the back ground and leaving me alone. I really like the ability to turn off Norton anti-virus from the task bar when I'm installing new software, instead of burrowing down thru clicks and clicks to turn it off on it's home page. Buying this combo saves me time, effort and money. I only have to watch for one date of renewal on my computers. I used to write on my disks which one went to which computer. No longer - one disk for all! Do you own more than one computer and have been buying the single version for each one? Then you already are aware of the great value of this combo. 5/5 L. Burks (Anniston, Al USA) - See all my reviews, November 2, 2010

    Excellent Antivirus

Throughout the years I have used several programs to protect home computers from the usual threats of surfing the web; although no Antivirus is bullet proof against every possible virus or hacker, not having an up to date antivirus is welcoming trouble. This new version compares to similar entries of other vendors, and most of the basic features are shared in all the programs. Once installed and configured, Norton Antivirus 2011 will be an automated application, downloading updates, running background scans and showing alerts of downloaded files or informing about Trojans in files that you want to execute. 5/5 Sergio Oses Puchkov (CR) - See all my reviews, December 12, 2010

    The BEST!

I've been using AVG since 2006 and I always end up sending junk emails through my Yahoo account. I installed AVG + Spybot Destroy & Search and nothing has been detected until I decided to have a go at Norton. I remember I used Norton Anti-virus a long time ago but it was so CPU intensive that I went through AVG. When I first installed it detected a major Trojan Horse and lots of suspicious cookies. I've never had any problem at all on my PC and I've never sent any junk mail at all. It's absolutely recommended to anyone wanting a reliable anti-virus and it's not CPU intensive anymore, that's why I give it five stars! 5/5 Rodrigo Albuquerque - See all my reviews, November 7, 2010

    A comprehensive anthology of scores

This is the first volume of the Norton Anthology of Western Music Third Edition). It covers Music of the Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, while the second volume deals with Music from the Classical, Romantic Contemporary and Modern Periods. The book offers a selection of scores (86 in total) from several composers and it spans over a period of more than two millennia (earliest score from 408 B.C., latest from 1752 A.D.). The scores that are included are representative of most composers that made an impact through these two millennia (at least according to the editors): Leonin, Perotin, Machaut, Landini, Dunstable, Duffay, Ockeghem, Des Prez, Willaert, Gesualdo, Monteverdi, Dowland, Byrd, Palestrina, Luis de Victoria, Orlando di Lasso, Caccini, Peri, Gabrielli, Schutz, Froberger, Frescobaldi, Scarlati, Purcell, Buxtehude, Lully, Couperin, Corelli, Vivaldi, Rameau, J.S. This is a collection of scores to the CD selections

Both volumes of the (paperback) Anthology (N.B.: 3d ed. goes with 5th ed. of the "History" text) are primarily fully reproduced (though reduced in size) scores to the music reproduced audiophonically on the CD's in Volumes 1 and 2 of "Recorded Anthology." The Anthology, according to its 3d ed. preface, now contains almost no text of its own. The "History" text (clothbound and yes, definitive) contains minimal examples in musical notation and refers to these two volumes frequently. Despite the above review being included with this volume, be advised that the study guide by J. Peter Burkholder is to the "History" text, not primarily to the Anthologies, which also supplement the History (along with the CD's). 5/5 A. (New York City, USA) - See all my reviews, March 15, 1999

Too Much Information, Too Little Space

As is typical with surveys of music written before 1800, this volume devotes way too little time and space to a period of music history spanning almost 2000 years, and yet volume two deovtes roughly the same amount of space to two hundred years of music history (ca. 1800-present). One gets the impression that a series of relatively inconsequential composers filled in the blanks until Bach and Handel, and that's grossly unfair not only to the composers of those works (and the works themselves), but also to those who wish to learn something about music written before Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi and Puccini. If you're looking to learn something about music written before 1800, stay away from these kinds of surveys and point yourself in the direction of books focused more on particular subject areas -- for example, James Anthony's book on French Baroque music and Gary Tomlinson's book "Monteverdi and the End of the Renaissance" provide lucid breakdowns for those new to these... 2/5 0, September 2, 2004

    Fast scan

I downloaded MyAntiVirus Pro to my Kindle Fire. I thought it might run in the background, but I need to click on it and tell it to scan. I can't ask it to scan just one app, it has to scan them all. The good thing is the scan is fast, whether I choose the quick scan or the full scan. There is an update feature, but it is not automatic. It needs to be selected manually. The most niggly thing about it is hitting "exit" does not exit the app. I need to hit the "home" icon to get out, but that's not exactly hard to do. It's not a bad antivirus scanner, and I'm happy for the speed._______________________UPDATE: I just want to make a correction to my review. I wrote the above review after running it for about a day. After using it a few days, it has become apparent that this little app does run in the background. After every app download, the antivirus app tells me there are no viruses.
