Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 - 3 Users
Software (Kaspersky Lab)
List Price: $79.95
Great protection from Kaspersky as usual.
Installation & First Impression:*****************************Installation of KIS 2012 was quite speedy. At the beginning of the installation process the program looked for any conflicting security programs that were already installed and to my surprise, it actually found remnants of Microsoft Security Essentials that I had previously uninstalled. After this was cleared up, it was a simple case of activating the product online and viola!, I was up and running. Albeit needing a definition update.Once KIS was up and running I downloaded the latest update, which took quite a while, and then gave it a quick scan. As this is the first 2012 malware product I've looked at thus far, it is difficult to be objective as to how Kaspersky's latest will compare with others that are released in the latter part of the year, but my initial impression is quite positive. KIS 2012 is jam-packed full of all the features that you would expect to see in such a program and definitely... 5/5 Method2Madness "Alex" (Hampton Roads, VA) - See all my reviews, September 26, 2011Super slow full scan takes the sparkle off an otherwise great product
I received Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 from the Amazon Vine Reviewer Program. Because I received the 3-license version I installed it on two PC's: desktop running Vista 32-bit and a desktop running Windows 7 64-bit.I had planned on also installing it on an XP desktop as this software gives you one code to license 3 machines for 1 year, however that is being old and fussy upon this writing and may need to die a natural death, thus I may have to install Kaspersky on yet another Win 7 machine instead. I will update this review after the third install.**Note that this software works with 32 and 64-bit Windows OS's Vista, XP and 7, but doesn't support Mac.**The Positives:Installation on both machines was easy, but much quicker on the Windows 7 machine. Probably more about the OS than this software. On both the Vista and Win 7 PC's the system moved quicker than with other antivirus' used before - Trend Micro on one and Kaspersky Pure on the... 3/5 Andrea L. Great AV Product
Antivirus can be a controversial subject. If you ask 20 different computer entusiasts or IT professionals what the best AV product is, you will not only get 20 different answers, but almost as many angry shouts about how horrible everybody else's picks were. Similarly, and only to make matters worse, if you do your research and read the "10 best antivirus products of 2011" articles then you will see that the rankings change all the time. Every year it seems some "who-the-heck-is-that" antivirus product makes it on to the number 1 or 2 spot for the major roundups. More frustrating is the fact that from site to site and review to review, the conclusions can be schizophrenic--with one site's number 1 pick being the other site's worst of the crop. From my own experience, I will tell you that no antivirus is a silver bullet, they all will catch some malware that others miss, and vice versa. Beware of fanboys and beware too of haters. But most of all, beware of anyone who gives you their... 5/5 Leo "Katphish" (Norwich, NY, United States) - See all my reviews, September 19, 2011Solid antivirus protection
I have this software installed on a desktop and a laptop with Windows XP. It's been running for a few days now and it is performing well. It was easy to configure and does what I expect from an anitvirus program. It updates automatically, scans files and email and monitors incoming web traffic for dangerous scripts. It doesn't slow down my system or nag me with pop-ups. Once it's configured it disappears into the background. To be clear, any program that's running in the background is going to use some memory. This software has a small footprint in comparison to others and no slow down was experienced.Prior to installation I removed the antivirus software I was currently running as recommended in the quick start instruction guide. After removal I put the Kaspersky DVD in the computer and it popped up a user friendly interface and I began the installation. The first thing I did after installation was complete was to click on the 'Update' button which downloaded... 4/5 Leslie (Midwestern USA) - See all my reviews, September 21, 2011Tech Support Scam
I have had Kaspersky Internet Security for two years. The program is great, but I encountered a problem with installation. When I tried to find the technical support number for the product, it was no where to be found on my invoice. I then went out on the internet to try and find technical support for Kaspersky product installation. However I encountered a bogus support line, that was trying to sell me additional products without helping me with my installation problem. If Kaspersky would put a tech support number on the internet invoice I received after purchasing the new 2012 edition of Internet Security, I would have been able to solve my problem without encountering a bogus site online. 3/5 Michael J. Kaspersky the nr. 1 security provider for your p.c.
After tested many of the major brands plus some that are less known in the past decade, I've been a steady customer of Kaspersky Internet Security for many years now. I have to say that I haven't tested all of the related software available, but Kaspersky, certainly when you speak of the major brands, is without a doubt the best at internet security. Their virus scanner is the best in their class. I also praise them because of the many options by which you can configure your security and the tutorials and all other scans you do using this piece of software. I use a lot more protection since nothings is foolproof as many of use will know, but the company keeps on getting better each year, like the this year newly added feature of cloud protection.I really recommend this product to everybody.I haven't tried the spam training on any edition since I don't need it. 4/5 Sjoffer (Netherlands) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 - 1 User (CD-ROM) After tested many of the major brands plus some that are less known in the past decade, I've been a steady customer of Kaspersky Internet Security for many years now. Outstanding internet security without impacting your computer's performance
I was given the opportunity to evaluate Kaspersky PURE on computers where I had been running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and Norton Internet Security 2010. The two computers I used for the evaluation were a 6 year old laptop running Windows XP Professional with a 2 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM and a 2 year old netbook running Windows XP Professional with an Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Both computers have about 10 GB of free space on the hard drives. Neither of these computers has significant processing power or disc space by today's standards and so the use of a internet security package that provides excellent protection but does not bog down the system is a priority. I found that Kaspersky PURE excelled at this. When I first tried to install PURE, I received an alert that I needed to remove other Kaspersky programs prior to the installation of PURE. This required a reboot of my machine after Kaspersky Internet Security was removed. Otherwise,... 5/5 mhnstr (Christchurch, New Zealand) - See all my reviews, February 15, 2011Norton gets stepped on with Kaspersky's little footprint.
It's like I have a brand new computer. Uninstalling Norton and AVG and Avast and McAfee and enough! Finally, someone gets it right and I actually feel secure. Plus there is the bonus that I can actually use my computer without lag.Once installed and updated, Pure is up and running smoothy with an appealing and user friendly program screen. Easy to setup with many preferences that can be changed, or just select the recommended settings for your system. It tells you what you should do based on the system you install on. I have installed on two systems, one older desktop PC running Windows XP, and a Christmas received HP notebook running Windows 7. Both running perfectly, and wow, did my desktop XP PC need Pure! It's so fast now. With automatic backup, scanning and live protection from viruses and spam, in no matter what form, it has your back. Most times you install security software not feeling 100% secure, and just assume it's doing it's job. But after... 5/5 M. Great Product But Too Many Problems
After using Norton for years and getting totally frustrated with their horrible service and an atrocious product called Norton 360 [early version], I switched to Kaspersky about 3 years ago. That was a smart move because Kaspersky has better customer service and a SUPERIOR product. Let me start by saying Kaspersky is the best consumer product for protection of your computer, however, they have significant problems every time they upgrade to a new version. Even worse, management refuses to communicate with their customers about those problems. One of the pluses of buying this product is the following. If a new version comes out during your one year cycle, you can upgrade to the new product for FREE. The downside, with both the 2010 and 2011 upgrades, many customers [not all] had major problems. With the 2010 upgrade, I was one of many whose system slowed to a crawl for weeks until they finally fixed the problem. Management failed to send out an email advising customers there... 3/5 R. Kaspersky replaced McAfee on my computer, low resource utilization and no problems. Easy installation. Not only can I use my computer at any time, I can also print on my wireless connected printer. McAfee decided that since I did not have their product installed on the "computer" on my home network I could not use it. To print I had to disable the firewall. Kaspersky correctly identifies the device as a printer and have no problems using all of the features of my all-in-one.The installation was flawless and fast, even though there was a new version available and the download was large.Full system scan runs very quietly on the background and I don't even notice it is doing anything, I had to open the window to see if it was still doing it or it was completed. It also ran in half the time of what McAfee used to take, and you do notice McAfee when it is running.Another advantage is that it has not used up another license because I am running... 5/5 Gustavo Orellana - See all my reviews, September 20, 2010Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 delivers essential anti-virus protection with advanced features such as a best-in-class firewall, anti-spam, and moreSmall footprint, tiny updates and intelligent scanning lets your machine perform to the maxSafe Desktop allows you to safely open any suspicious application, file, email or web siteEnhanced parental controls to limit or log activities and communicationsHourly signature updates, best-in-class unknown threat protection, and application alerts give you complete confidence -

Software (Kaspersky Lab)
List Price: $99.95
Very happy thus far
Over the years I"ve used lots of different security programs--both free and paid--including Norton, Zone Alarm, Trend Micro, Vipre, Malwarebytes, Spybot and others. Recently I found myself with a number of different internet-capable devices and I started looking for one security suite that I could use for all of them. When I found Kaspersky One it was perfect for my situation and I took a chance and purchased it. I used the CD to install Kaspersky on my Dell XPS and followed the instructions to install via download on my Sony Tablet S and Samsung 4g smart phone. I had no problems whatsoever and had all three up and running in minutes. Since my Toshiba netbook doesn't have a CD drive I had to go online to the Kaspersky site to find the proper download. Once found, that installation was also flawless. After installation the updating and subsequent deep scanning did take some time. The process with the Sony and the Samsung was pretty quick, but the Dell and the Toshiba... 5/5 lcfeminist (Baltimore USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is my 4th year renewing my Kaspersky Anti Virus. The first two years all they offered was the Anti Virus and it worked wonderful. Last year I got the PURE and it was great also. We also have the Kaspersky Mobile Anti Virus on our Android Smartphones. I am now buying the Kaspersky Universal to put on all of our electronics. Highly recommend. I have never had it tell me there were simple viruses and I had to upgrade to a more expensive package to get it off like other Anti Virus softwares I had. I have used some pretty shady sites and never gotten a virus. Don't use anything else. You won't be sorry. 5/5 Kaylen Bates - See all my reviews This review is from: Kaspersky One: 5 Device, 1 year (CD-ROM) This is my 4th year renewing my Kaspersky Anti Virus. Best option out there
First of all anti-virus software always slows your computer down. I don't know why people write reviews commenting out that. What is important is how much does this software slow you computer down in comparison to Norton or symantec or whatever you are using. I have found this program superior in all respects of performance it does not slow you computer down as much as other anti-virus software and in my opinion the updates are faster and the protection better than Norton with out a bunch of stuff you don't want/need. The only thing is you have to buy the program from amazon every year. The renew activation codes you download through the Kaspersky website seem to not work too well. Bottom line this is best anti-virus program. 5/5 Mike W. "Mike" (Washington DC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I have used Norton's products for a long time and been fairly happy with them. However, Kaspersky has always been an interesting product for me since it it said to use less system resources and be less intrusive in my day to day work.I have used Kaspersky now for several months and have to say that I really like it, even better than Norton.Pros:- Lets my system run smoother- Less intrusive. It just works without telling me everything it does.- Easy to install and configure (on Windows Vista)- Good level of protection (always hard to tell, but I got a probable virus using Norton that ruined my printing abilities. I haven't gotten it using Kaspersky...though it's also dependent on other issues, of course.)Cons:- none so far. Get yours! 4/5 Dare to love (Alingsås, Sweden) - See all my reviews, March 2, 2011The geek's choice for anti virus - but consider a product with more features
Kaspersky has long been the anti-virus program favored by computer geeks, and for good reason. It's highly effective, and has a less heavy-handed and less resource-intensive approach than many of the alternatives. But stand-alone anti-virus programs are of somewhat limited use beyond the computer expert community, whose users want to have the best performance for each feature (such as a separate, configurable firewall) and tweak their other settings. And on the other end of the spectrum, budget conscious users can probably manage well enough with free anti-virus programs, the Windows firewall, and some care in where they browse and how their computers are set. Most users would do best to buy a more full featured program that provides an enhanced firewall, spam protection, malware protection while browsing, and perhaps parental controls. For many users, something like the... 4/5 Snap, Crackle and Pop (United States) - See all my reviews, February 16, 2011And more with technologies to keep your identity safe and secureHourly signature updates, best-in-class unknown threat protection, and application vulnerability alerts give you complete confidenceNew Desktop Security Gadget for easy drag-and-drop virus scanning and instant access to all your security settingsKaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 provides real-time protection from viruses, spyware, trojans, rootkits, bots and more.Small footprint, tiny updates and intelligent variable scanning lets your machine performto the maxYour digital identity and passwords are kept secure when you're shopping, banking or networking online -

One Major Flaw that CANNOT be overlooked
I've been a customer of Kaspersky for a few years now. For the most part I've been satisfied with most of their products including Internet Security as well as PURE 1.0. Recently I decided to build a new system (Windows 7 64-Bit Professional) and got this version of PURE for protection. Everything went smoothly for the most part and nothing out of the ordinary happened during install and configuration. Overall after about a week of use this feels like an improved version of PURE to some extent:- Faster scans (critical, full, as well as custom)- Better support for sandbox usage (seems to run better for the most part)- Many of the features from PURE (PC Tune-Up as well as Vulnerability Scan) are there and work slightly faster- Includes a Network Monitor which is nice since you can see what's coming in and out- Doesn't have a major impact on performance So you're probably wondering then why I rated this product a two out of five stars... 2/5 Ryan - See all my reviews This review is from: Kaspersky Pure 2.0 - 3 Users (CD-ROM) I've been a customer of Kaspersky for a few years now. I upgraded to Pure 2 from an earlier version of Pure a few weeks ago. It is installed on my Win7 64-bit computer. The new version runs normally for a few hours or maybe as long as a couple of weeks and then throws a "License invalid" error and disables itself - leaving the computer completely unprotected. (Refer to the screenshots I added to the product images.) The only solution is to uninstall/reinstall the software. I have had the "license invalid" situation occur about eight times over 5 or 6 weeks. I am ditching this software and will revert to the earlier version for the remaining five months of my license period. The situation has been reported by several users on the official Kaspersky forum. It has been reported to occur on both Win7 and WinXP. Tech support has supposedly been working on the problem for quite some time but the problem still persists.Kaspersky Pure 2 is NOT an acceptable Security Suite at the time of this review. Called customer service and had to wait 50 minutes to talk to someone. I asked the tech if that was normal since I just got this product and he told me it was. He was rude, abrupt and couldn't answer my question.
