Great protection from Kaspersky as usual.

Installation & First Impression:*****************************Installation of KIS 2012 was quite speedy. At the beginning of the installation process the program looked for any conflicting security programs that were already installed and to my surprise, it actually found remnants of Microsoft Security Essentials that I had previously uninstalled. After this was cleared up, it was a simple case of activating the product online and viola!, I was up and running. Albeit needing a definition update.Once KIS was up and running I downloaded the latest update, which took quite a while, and then gave it a quick scan. As this is the first 2012 malware product I've looked at thus far, it is difficult to be objective as to how Kaspersky's latest will compare with others that are released in the latter part of the year, but my initial impression is quite positive. KIS 2012 is jam-packed full of all the features that you would expect to see in such a program and definitely... 5/5 Method2Madness "Alex" (Hampton Roads, VA) - See all my reviews, September 26, 2011

Super slow full scan takes the sparkle off an otherwise great product

I received Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 from the Amazon Vine Reviewer Program. Because I received the 3-license version I installed it on two PC's: desktop running Vista 32-bit and a desktop running Windows 7 64-bit.I had planned on also installing it on an XP desktop as this software gives you one code to license 3 machines for 1 year, however that is being old and fussy upon this writing and may need to die a natural death, thus I may have to install Kaspersky on yet another Win 7 machine instead. I will update this review after the third install.**Note that this software works with 32 and 64-bit Windows OS's Vista, XP and 7, but doesn't support Mac.**The Positives:Installation on both machines was easy, but much quicker on the Windows 7 machine. Probably more about the OS than this software. On both the Vista and Win 7 PC's the system moved quicker than with other antivirus' used before - Trend Micro on one and Kaspersky Pure on the... 3/5 Andrea L. Kaspersky the nr. 1 security provider for your p.c.

After tested many of the major brands plus some that are less known in the past decade, I've been a steady customer of Kaspersky Internet Security for many years now. I have to say that I haven't tested all of the related software available, but Kaspersky, certainly when you speak of the major brands, is without a doubt the best at internet security. Their virus scanner is the best in their class. I also praise them because of the many options by which you can configure your security and the tutorials and all other scans you do using this piece of software. I use a lot more protection since nothings is foolproof as many of use will know, but the company keeps on getting better each year, like the this year newly added feature of cloud protection.I really recommend this product to everybody.I haven't tried the spam training on any edition since I don't need it. 4/5 Sjoffer (Netherlands) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 - 1 User (CD-ROM) After tested many of the major brands plus some that are less known in the past decade, I've been a steady customer of Kaspersky Internet Security for many years now. Great Product But Too Many Problems

After using Norton for years and getting totally frustrated with their horrible service and an atrocious product called Norton 360 [early version], I switched to Kaspersky about 3 years ago. That was a smart move because Kaspersky has better customer service and a SUPERIOR product. Let me start by saying Kaspersky is the best consumer product for protection of your computer, however, they have significant problems every time they upgrade to a new version. Even worse, management refuses to communicate with their customers about those problems. One of the pluses of buying this product is the following. If a new version comes out during your one year cycle, you can upgrade to the new product for FREE. The downside, with both the 2010 and 2011 upgrades, many customers [not all] had major problems. With the 2010 upgrade, I was one of many whose system slowed to a crawl for weeks until they finally fixed the problem. Management failed to send out an email advising customers there... 3/5 R. Whether you own a powerful desktop or a modest mini-laptop, KIS 2011 is a worthy purchase for users of Windows 7 64-bit

*(PLEASE NOTE: This review is geared towards Windows 7 64-bit users with a fairly recent computer build, e.g. any dual core processor PC built over the past four years or less. PC users with ten-year-old Pentium 4/XP computing rigs should look elsewhere for advice; if possible, they should also consider upgrading and/or replacing their aging hardware and OS, as the cost/value ratio in the PC market has never, ever been better... even when one takes into consideration these hard economic times.)As was the case last year, after taking a month-long test run with the latest internet security suites (Avast, Norton, McAfee), I have come away very impressed with Kaspersky Internet Security. The best security package I have ever used.

Kaspersky replaced McAfee on my computer, low resource utilization and no problems. Easy installation. Not only can I use my computer at any time, I can also print on my wireless connected printer. McAfee decided that since I did not have their product installed on the "computer" on my home network I could not use it. To print I had to disable the firewall. Kaspersky correctly identifies the device as a printer and have no problems using all of the features of my all-in-one.The installation was flawless and fast, even though there was a new version available and the download was large.Full system scan runs very quietly on the background and I don't even notice it is doing anything, I had to open the window to see if it was still doing it or it was completed. It also ran in half the time of what McAfee used to take, and you do notice McAfee when it is running.Another advantage is that it has not used up another license because I am running... 5/5 Gustavo Orellana - See all my reviews, September 20, 2010

    Great AV Product

Antivirus can be a controversial subject. If you ask 20 different computer entusiasts or IT professionals what the best AV product is, you will not only get 20 different answers, but almost as many angry shouts about how horrible everybody else's picks were. Similarly, and only to make matters worse, if you do your research and read the "10 best antivirus products of 2011" articles then you will see that the rankings change all the time. Every year it seems some "who-the-heck-is-that" antivirus product makes it on to the number 1 or 2 spot for the major roundups. More frustrating is the fact that from site to site and review to review, the conclusions can be schizophrenic--with one site's number 1 pick being the other site's worst of the crop. From my own experience, I will tell you that no antivirus is a silver bullet, they all will catch some malware that others miss, and vice versa. Beware of fanboys and beware too of haters. But most of all, beware of anyone who gives you their... 5/5 Leo "Katphish" (Norwich, NY, United States) - See all my reviews, September 19, 2011

    Solid antivirus protection

I have this software installed on a desktop and a laptop with Windows XP. It's been running for a few days now and it is performing well. It was easy to configure and does what I expect from an anitvirus program. It updates automatically, scans files and email and monitors incoming web traffic for dangerous scripts. It doesn't slow down my system or nag me with pop-ups. Once it's configured it disappears into the background. To be clear, any program that's running in the background is going to use some memory. This software has a small footprint in comparison to others and no slow down was experienced.Prior to installation I removed the antivirus software I was currently running as recommended in the quick start instruction guide. After removal I put the Kaspersky DVD in the computer and it popped up a user friendly interface and I began the installation. The first thing I did after installation was complete was to click on the 'Update' button which downloaded... 4/5 Leslie (Midwestern USA) - See all my reviews, September 21, 2011

    Tech Support Scam

I have had Kaspersky Internet Security for two years. The program is great, but I encountered a problem with installation. When I tried to find the technical support number for the product, it was no where to be found on my invoice. I then went out on the internet to try and find technical support for Kaspersky product installation. However I encountered a bogus support line, that was trying to sell me additional products without helping me with my installation problem. If Kaspersky would put a tech support number on the internet invoice I received after purchasing the new 2012 edition of Internet Security, I would have been able to solve my problem without encountering a bogus site online. 3/5 Michael J. Outstanding internet security without impacting your computer's performance

I was given the opportunity to evaluate Kaspersky PURE on computers where I had been running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and Norton Internet Security 2010. The two computers I used for the evaluation were a 6 year old laptop running Windows XP Professional with a 2 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM and a 2 year old netbook running Windows XP Professional with an Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Both computers have about 10 GB of free space on the hard drives. Neither of these computers has significant processing power or disc space by today's standards and so the use of a internet security package that provides excellent protection but does not bog down the system is a priority. I found that Kaspersky PURE excelled at this. When I first tried to install PURE, I received an alert that I needed to remove other Kaspersky programs prior to the installation of PURE. This required a reboot of my machine after Kaspersky Internet Security was removed. Otherwise,... 5/5 mhnstr (Christchurch, New Zealand) - See all my reviews, February 15, 2011

Norton gets stepped on with Kaspersky's little footprint.

It's like I have a brand new computer. Uninstalling Norton and AVG and Avast and McAfee and enough! Finally, someone gets it right and I actually feel secure. Plus there is the bonus that I can actually use my computer without lag.Once installed and updated, Pure is up and running smoothy with an appealing and user friendly program screen. Easy to setup with many preferences that can be changed, or just select the recommended settings for your system. It tells you what you should do based on the system you install on. I have installed on two systems, one older desktop PC running Windows XP, and a Christmas received HP notebook running Windows 7. Both running perfectly, and wow, did my desktop XP PC need Pure! It's so fast now. With automatic backup, scanning and live protection from viruses and spam, in no matter what form, it has your back. Solid Internet Security Suite Works Quite Well With Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

I own a 3-year-old Dell XPS 410 with an Intel Core 2 6700 CPU @ 2.66GHz, equipped with a RAID 0 650 GB dual hard drive, 4 GB DDR2 RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB "Direct X 10"-compatible graphics card; for the most part, I have been displeased with the performance of my computer ever since my initial purchase... and this disappointment extended to the performance of my chosen internet security suite, KIS 2007-2010.After several years of using the miserably sluggish, sporadically buggy Vista Ultimate 32-bit OS, I have recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit (all I can say is WHAT A DIFFERENCE... for those interested, upgrade ASAP). Bloatware that should be avoided

I've used just about every security system in the world over the years and a year ago settled on Kaspersky 2009, which is easy to use, runs well, and does everything perfectly. Then, in September, it came time to renew my annual license. I paid my money, and, instead of just renewing me, Kaspersky sent me their new program, 2010. I installed it with no problem. The interface is more complicated but not *really* hard to figure out. After a while, however, I started noticing that there were various sites that I couldn't get to on the Internet (I use Chrome as my browser). Then I discovered that some programs, such as Eudora and Agent were taking longer and longer and longer to shut down when I clicked the X in the corner. And that almost *all* programs I opened or *all* websites that I went to were *much* slower in starting up than they had been before. I tried getting help for various issues at the online Forum where various people send in their problems and other... 2/5 Hayford Peirce (Tucson, AZ United States) - See all my reviews, November 7, 2009

Solid protection, and better than the big players

Count me as a convert. Aside from the fact that both Norton and McAfee are bloated and intrusive, Kaspersky has some really nice features. One thing that's a big win for me is how the protection coverage works. Buying this package gives you a license to run the software, and virus database updates for a year for 3 PCs. At the end of that year, the updates stop but the protection level you had when it expired continues as long as you like. With the others (esp. Norton and AVG), your protection stops after the license expires, which is of course a total ripoff that you don't find out until you're 'hooked'. Then your protection turns into 'nagware', bugging you every five minutes until you renew. Up until my switch, I always cursed them under my breath then coughed up money to them (bad). In this game, Kaspersky comes off as the good guys. You get standard virus coverage, along with some extras that should keep you safe against most malicious... 4/5 J. I own a 4-year-old Dell XPS 410 with an Intel Core 2 6700 CPU @ 2.66GHz, equipped with a "RAID 0" 2 TB dual hard drive, 8 GB DDR2 RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB "Direct X 10"-compatible graphics card. The activation code was for the wrong product!

I ordered this with Amazon Prime Thursday evening and it arrived Saturday eveningas promised. This was Saturday before Labor Day. As I installed the product,it asked for activation code. When I entered the code, it immediately switchedme over to the Kaspersky 2011 ANTI-VIRUS software! Since Kaspersky was closedfor the holiday weekend, there was nothing I could do until Tuesday. When Iturned on computer Tuesday, I had a message stating the license had been blocked. When I went to Kaspersky's website, there was a message on how to fix this licenseissue. It seems a lot of people must have had a problem. Then it was time forme to do a live chat to find out about the activation code. I waited about 45 minutes for a live chat operator. He told me some of the Internet Securitywent out with an incorrect activation code. I was on live chat for about 40minutes as he tried to get me an activation code. Eventually, he told... 3/5 luckybucky15 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Product But Hassle To Activate

I have used Kaspersky Internet Security Suite for my overall internet security for a number of years now. It is a very good product. However, the only issue I've encountered is the activation process. I encountered the same issue as Catlovertwo. Several times when I've renewed my subscription... whether by download or retail box(disk)the activation code provided with the product is always invalid, which means contacting customer service and having to scan and email copies of the disk, box,UPC,receipt... etc to prove ownership in order to get the correct activation code... it's a big inconvenience and hassle. 4/5 A NC Tarheel (North Carolina) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Bitdefender Internet Security works, but...

I looked forward to trying as it was a product that seemed to have a number of decent features. But let's get right to the point: there are better products on the market today worth considering. And with such products as the latest AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition, to name one, it's hard to recommend this one from Bitdefender, unless you're new to computing and just want an easy-to-install product.I initially installed this product on two computers, an HP Presario notebook running Windows Vista, and on a Sony VAIO running Windows XP Professional. Both computers had all available software updates and Service Packs installed. There were no problems with the installation on either computer other than a number of mildly annoying little pop-ups and reboots, but if you've installed security and anti-virus... 4/5 John Williamson "JargonTalk" (Bucks County, PA USA) - See all my reviews, November 19, 2009

CHEAP! - For a Good Reason

Yes, this is very tempting to purchase because of the price - I did. But, I curse my cheap gene to this day for buying this mistake. Here are my 2 reasons:1) I had a problem with this product and customer service stopped responding my my emails. They responded only after I got the BBB involved.2) One of their latest patches made it appear like win 7 64-bit computers were infected with a major trojan (see their web site for details). It happened to my wife's computer. I did not know what was going on I even re-installed windows just in case only to find out a week later that it was Bitdefender's fault.doner really hates this product and will do a happy dance when this company goes under. Hours and hours of my time wasted because of Bitdefender. 1/5 doner (Poway, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Bitdefender Internet Security 2010 - 3 Pc/2 Yr [OLD VERSION] (CD-ROM) Yes, this is very tempting to purchase because of the price - I did. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!

I had used Bitdefender Antivirus 2008 and 2009, and despite some unsolved problems, they were never serious. So when it came time to renew, I thought I should upgrade to the more powerful Bitdefender Internet Security 2010 (IS2010). It was a big mistake!!!After installing IS2010 on my Windows Vista notebook:1. the parental control software (ComputerTime) would not work properly, even though this software served me wonderfully for over 4 years2. my wife and daughters had difficulties logging into their Windows account - their screen will remain blank and nothing can be done unless the machine is rebooted, and I have to let them use my account3. the IS2010 services would keep dying unexpectedly and I would have to reboot my machine. This happened daily and for today alone, it happened 3 times in 2 hours!Of course, you may be wondering if all these problems were really due to IS2010. I wondered, too, and between contacting... 1/5 Luke Kwong "Luke" (Singapore) - See all my reviews, September 12, 2009

    You will forget it's Running

I had been using AVG the free version for maybe 4 years. I always thought it did adequate job for me. I don't do file sharing. I don't open up strange emails. GMail does a good job separating the spam mails. I picked up an annoying trojan somewhere. My computer still functioned perfectly. AVG would open a warning window. I would tell AVG to quarantine and or remove the file. aVG was not able to solve this issue.I downloaded Kaspersky Antivirus 2012 and saved the exec file to HD. Then I uninstalled AVG. I rebooted. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I searched my program files folder to look for a remnant of the AVG programs folder. I think I remember finding an AVG folder. It was just a folder with a couple files in there. I deleted the remaining AVG folder. I went to the recycle bin and deleted the folder again just to make sure.I installed the trial version of Kaspersky antivirus I had downloaded. The install went smoothly. I orginally used Norton for years but after purchasing a new computer at Best Buy over a year ago, Kaspersky was installed on it. I have liked it better than Norton and have become a Kaspersky customer. When my 2011 ran out I searched for the Cheapest buy and found the 2012 here on Amazon. 5/5 Steve - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) The Best Antivirus in the World

I haved NOD32 in my machine and one day, enter a virus to my PC, the NOD32 detect it but it could not eliminate it, I order it to quarantine.
